This is where you explain to us exactly how he fails as a President- what his shortcomings are. This is not the place to insert a one sentince stupid response- this is where you explain to us exactly why he is so bad as President. I would like to get a debate going on this, 'cause some of you may be right!

I don't like his "lack of character" for not pushing harder for concessions from the Republicans, who unilaterally hate him and won't give an inch.

I fault him for not playing politics and showcasing the urgency of change as much as we really need it- his whining to a ticking clock as it counted down to debt default made me cringe- a real President would speak from the Oval Office at 8pm about this dire future and ham it up to sell it to the people- he lacks that ability to sell it hard to the people that Reagan had.

He also needs to improve his image as the WORKING President... he needs higher goals perhaps, but he is taking a lot of personal time. I want the White House's hands on the government running things... a quality Dubya had- he lacks that. Sure Dubya took vacations but "he also brought the football- just in case..." you don't get that feeling from Obama on vacation.

Those are my faults with Obama- things I am sure will change 2012-2016 when he is a second-term President and becomes more bold.

How 'bout a video that has 9.8 million views? Seems to express the feelings of most of us about Barack Obama... certainly covers mine.

    This is great, Smartmouthwoman!

    Thanks for sharing!

Here are some more interesting facts about Obama.

"Obama is flat when passion is needed; he's aggressive when savvy is required. What's most worrisome is that Obama doesn't even realize that his behavior is inappropriate."

I appreciate your attempt to have us state our reasons why we dislike/distrust this CIC, but I agree with the smart woman in that most of us have been laying out our criticisms for a long time now. What I and others have tried to do with no success is to get liberals here to tell us what exactly they like about the direction obama is taking us and has for the future of America. Its quite simple really, either your for a capitalist society or a socialist society. There can be no middle ground here, nor should there be a middle ground. You're either pro capitalist or pro socialist.

Yes you all have on a daily, regular basis. But can you sum up all your problems with the President and type them in one place? Or is it nothing a string of failures from day one?

    Wow, talk about nationalist propaganda.

What point was it trying to prove exactly?

Actually, there can be middle ground. There is middle ground, even before Obama.

So what is the issue? Why should it be one or the other?

    Seems rather unrealistic.

Enacting his wished through regulatory agencies and just giving commands.
IMO, his policies have made the economy stall.

Caveat: barring some incredibly strange event, I'll be voting for Obama.

That said, he has some flaws.

I think the main one he has is in picking advisers based on their cults of personality (appeal to certain demographics, prior reputations) rather than their areas of expertise. This only seems to get worse as the next election draws near.

He waits way too long to challenge the misinformation of Republicans and their surrogates. He doesn't seem to get the importance in politics of primacy. This makes his base less excited about him and allows more time for right-wing spin to go mainstream and seep into the minds of self-congratulating centrists.

He couldn't negotiate his way out of a paper bag.

Now, out of those, two are political. The other is somewhat politically savvy (but not really) and hurts policy (and long-term political strength).

On the positive side, most of these things might be accounted to inexperience and the permanent campaign of the first term.
So I hope the liberals whining about how "disappointing" he is take that into account.
And if he does win (it'll be a toughie), I think the righties aren't going to be able to walk all over him like the first term (and this will make them less able to tar him as an evil socialist guy scarier than anyone whose ever been president before, since that is a function of right-wing talking point strength more than Obama's actual policies).

Barack Obama is the physical embodiment of American leftist ideology. That in and of itself makes him illegitimate. Add to that the fact that Obama is inexperienced and narcissistic and you have quite a witches' brew.

Let me continue. Obama abandoned his role as leader by turning over health care policymaking and stimulus planning to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. He has failed to address the jobs crisis that has destroyed millions of lives.

Obama had a window of opportunity to reach out to his opponents during the first two months or so of his presidency. His opponents were demoralized and scattered. Instead he filled his opponents with a terrible resolve.

George Bush threw away an empire. Barack Obama poisoned a nation. Obama has ensured that the America that was can never be restored. In that sense Obama is like Pu Yi, the last of the Qing Dynasty Emperors.

How about..............Obama is clueless on everything.

And in the past 3 years, all he is good for is sending Billions upon Billions of our dollars overseas to Muslim countries.

How about he should be Impeached for his knowing and involvement of the 'FAST AND FURIOUS' gun running scandal with Mexican Cartels.

    Just for starters....

:spin: Obama is very far from the embodiment of a leftist ideology!! He is much closer to the embodiment of a type of corporatist centrism that is all the rage in politics these days. For a person who is the embodiment of leftism, it would be convenient if that person actually did some leftist things. Obama has done almost nothing that could be termed far-left wing, and very few things that could even be described as center-left.

I understand your position. You are entitled to define the political spectrum in any fashion you deem appropriate. I am entitled to disagree with you.

Obama is a social justice guy deeply indebted to the labor and environmental movements. He has not kept faith with African America because he can safely ignore it. He has kept faith with the labor and environmental movements. His judicial nominees demonstrate a rigid leftist ideology, e.g., Goodwin Liu.

Obama has not reassured his opponents of their figurative safety. He has created a wave of fear among the investor class and what he might call the "clinger" class. Leaders do not do such things.

He has failed to satisfy his supporters while nevertheless convincing his opponents that they are at risk. Leaders do not do such things.

In all my years I have never seen a president generate fear of the magnitude which causes guns and ammunition to literally fly off the shelves. Even the renowned Democrat Pat Caddell has noted that the country is now in a pre-revolutionary phase.

    Broken Arrow.

I think Obama is an incompetent leader as well, but that has NOTHING to do with him being "the embodiment of the leftist movement." Nor do I accept the hyperbole spouted by people like you on the right. Obama is a bad president, but no worse than Bush, and not much worse than any legitimate alternative. Our system is diseased, and Obama is a symptom of that disease, not the cause of it!!

I voted for Obama and am pretty disapointed so far in his presidency.

We are still fighting these stupid wars that give us illusion of safety and nothing else. Meanwhile the economy is garbage and not looking to get better anytime soon. The Stimulii (sp?) packages may have saved the Auto/Banking industries which is important but they were too expensive and didnt create the kind of economic/job growth we had all hoped.

There is still some time to turn it around. Im hoping for some big jobs bill in the near future. Pushing infrastructure and other industrys that could put people to work tomorrow. Dare the republicans to vote against it. I just wish he would fight more instead of rolling over. If he is going to go down, go down with a fight.

I'm not sure who I will vote for in 2012. Even though I am a registered Democrat, I could get behind a moderate republican candidate like Romney or Huntsman that has good economic ideas, but at the same time isn't pushing radical Social views like Bachmann/Perry.

If far Left wing is communist, then he's advanced that agenda very well. The government owns GM and even now is trying to dodge its responsibility to repair over 400,000 faulty vehicles. He also has an unholy alliance with GE and he's taken over the student loan industry. When government seeks control of the means of production in this country, that's communism. And businesses in this country won't be taken over in one swoop, but rather one industry at a time.

I hear a lot of nit-picking. Can you folks boil it down to points. Points that we can elaborate on as facts.

Perspective is relative. Obama comes out of the Alinsky school of thought on social justice. He is a man of the academy fused with Chicago machine politics.

Obama was an unknown and untested candidate in 2008. Imo the American left invested all of their hopes in dreams into the belief in messianic redemption. In 2009 Evan White of Newsweek referred to Obama as sort of like a god.

Obama's program has failed and now American leftism wants to wipe its fingerprints off of the crime scene. That won't be allowed.

I agree the American political system is diseased. I agree Obama is a symptom. But so was Bush, and the left uses him to attempt to completely discredit the right.

The American political system is a fusion of Big Govt., Big Business and Big Labor which is now paralyzed. Paralyzed political systems aren't capable of adaptation to new conditions. The trajectory is set...right into the ground at 500 mph.

What you perceive as hyperbole are my conclusions based on what I see as failed models that reappear throughout history. America was structured as a democratic republic. Democratic republics contain flaws that have often led to suicide. We're seeing this play out now. And no I have no suggestions as far as a preferable form of polity. I simply note the internal inconsistencies in the existing American polity.

No- present the facts- as a readable document, not as a half-baked thought.
