The figurehead Presidency: Bow to our 'Official Channels'

One thing had become abundantly clear throughout this process(which is now entirely political and can be discussed along political, not legal lines.): The Official Channels are our new masters.

The diplomat in Ukraine? He's the official point man in all things Ukraine. The French diplomat? Likewise, and so forth. These appointees used to serve in the pleasure of the presidency, as late as James Madison actually. Just as the 'intelligence community' has now become our ministry of propaganda(from which we are to accept that all things coming from them are the truth and solely the truth), these appointees who we learned cannot be fired or replaced are the ones who dictate policy.

So will they come before us? Share their views before the public and nation and campaign on them? Oh HELL NO. They've got a very comfortable gig right now: They can extort the Presidency to follow their every wish and whim. Now, normally just the presence of their sagely advise is enough to do the trick, but through this impeachment saga they have now sent a message to future Presidents: If you don't do what we ask, we'll help bolster or fabricate a case for your removal, and the Senate will oblige. Even if the Senate doesn't oblige, it weakens your position substantially.

Even better if the politicians uphold your talking points(Was Ukraine a point of relevance to the Public before now? No. After now? No. But to the 'Official Channels', they can dictate that our taxpayer dollars are spent there.)

Even as I pointed out, the origin of the purse power was meant for the domestic tranquility of the union. I'm sorry, you must pay in taxpayer dollars and in the price of our men and women for Ukraine's prosperity. What you gain from it? Nada, but that wasn't the focus or care of the "Official Channels."

That's the substantive difference between the "Official Channels." and even an Authoritarian. Americans feared Authoritarian rule because they believed the Authoritarian is unaccountable. But by contrast, he's actually out there in the open. The Authoritarian leader, whose entire philosophy is hinged on the Nation-State is accountable must produce a prosperous nation, lest he finds himself in revolt.

The "Official Channels?" Even if we oppose their policies, they can hide behind the President. It was "him" they say, while escaping accountability all the same. What this farce has done, and what several politicians are about to do is not only make the President a figurehead in the country, but to establish the official rule of our official channels.

Good luck making them accountable to you, they're not even accountable to the executive branch.
