Well FOX Business will offer a hosted commentary 'coverage' and FOX News, in it's fair and balanced way, will offer their regular programming and dip in for sporadic coverage (AKA filter). Quite the contrast to the McCarthy and Watergate hearings. The latter having received the attention of 80% of the viewing public. As Woodward and Bernstein pointed out a few days ago, what Trump did was arguably worse than Nixon's actions. Back then, Repub senators contacted Nixon before his impeachment trial to say they would vote to convict, leading to his resignation. The facts regarding Trump's and his minion's actions, most of which are known now but weren't at the time of Trump's second impeachment, that will be covered during the 1/6 committee hearings are the most damning for a prez in the nation's history. Unethical, unpatriotic, and illegal, they represent the worst betrayal of the oath of office one can imagine.

 

I would suggest if they are informative for the many millions of people who are unaware of the details about the attempted coup, that automatically would make the hearings meaningful.

Historical note, the founder of Faux news and its long time producer, Roger Ailes, was Nixon's media consultant at the time of Watergate. He expressed a desire, way back then, to have a TV station that advocated for Repubs. At the time he wanted one to be used to defend Nixon. As we know, he eventually got his wish with the establishment of what is POT TV.

Look it’s simple. The ONLY way this works out well for the Dems is if they can produce a smoking gun of PROOF that Trump corroborated with the people storming the capitol.

But they don’t have it. Because if they did have it, it would be in every liberal media outlet being talked about 24/7.

So there is no smoking gun and this is going to look like EXACTLY what it is. A political witch-hunt in an attempt to silence opposition.

I like the way you focus on "Accusation>>Prosecution>>Success" rather than "Accusation>>Rebuttal>>Determination of Guilt or Innocence by one's peers>>Success". I can actually only think of one case that has gone to jury trial and that case was moved from Texas to DC, where the defendant had damned near no chance of getting an unbiased jury.
