Whether an Orc incursion or not....there'll probably be Western troops in there.

Maybe if you lived in Europe, you would understand. It all hits a little closer to home for them than it does for us.

That's possible. But if French troops are shooting at Russians, doesn't that give Putin the excuse to do nasty things to France?

If it were to come to that, I suppose. But you know, it's creating economic headaches for Europe already, and of course they have to deal with all those Ukrainian refugees.

It also seems that this is already in response to Russia's hybrid warfare, which has "reportedly intensified against France and other European Union members," and there are other factors:

If nothing else, this messaging is meant to be a projection of strength on Macron's part.

He said he would consider the French troops to be legitimate targets from when they entered Ukraine,
which is in his opinion a belligerent nation, and in plenty of other people's opinions too.

I suspect a decision has already been made in this respect....it's a matter of timing now.....IMO anyway.

The French personnel could possibly be stationed at Belarus border to relieve UAF for a summer offensive.

Pootler could hardly give two cents worth on a piss plate (well ,maybe the phuck does) considering this war has gone horribly bad for him.....will he target French forces....and risk confrontation with another nuclear state?...we'll see.....French forces and AF are NATO standard.....this will probably open the door to more NATO states committing forces to Ukraine....

I'll say this ....if Kerch is destroyed and Crimea falls.....Putler will be "taken out"....I can't see Kremlin elite absorbing a humiliation like that.

I agree that there is bound to be a lot of planning and goings-on behind the scenes. I expect French servicemen will be, and perhaps already are, doing considerably more than guarding the Ukraine-Belarus border.

I hope they bring a lot of fancy equipment with them too. I'm sure Ukraine wouldn't mind having France's finest anti-air capabilities and more operating on their territory.

According to a couple of news feeds I spotted minutes ago, Kyiv is
making a major attack against Russia and the other one says Russia
    is about to destroy Ukraine.

    That's why I don't read the news.

I also suspect the French servicemen will bring their "toys" along....maybe even Mirage fighters....together with F16s could blow open a hole that leads to Azov Sea and severing the land corridor.

That, together with Kerch destroyed,Crimea falling....Pootler would lose what marble he's got left...Shoigu promised him miracles,so I suspect he would fall through a window quickly. I still haven't seen Gerasimov....who knows?

Another thought is that France operating in Ukraine would be an important step in helping Ukraine's military reach NATO standards and learn to interoperate with NATO, since they would have to cooperate extensively and be able to interoperate if French forces are to work alongside Ukrainian forces in any capacity. So that's possibly some of those plans and goings-on behind the scenes that might explain Macron's motives.

I understand the equipment in Ukraine is already about as interoperable as it can be.

The French soldiers are well aware that going into Ukraine would be suicide.

But as with the US and Britain, their leaders don't know that and they won't be
going in so why would they care?

    Interoperable or inoperable?

It was nice of the Russians to make a public display in Moscow to show their residents the West's wonder weapons burn like the rest. Abrams and all.

True....UAF alongside French servicemen should really increase interoperability of Ukraines forces as they move closer to NATO member status.

Seeing German forces would also be a bonus.....although Olgino Rusnya would see that as Barbarossa Part 2.....hahaha.

Considering their whole "Ukie Nazi" obsession, the reaction would be legendary, I'm sure.

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."

Originally President Eisenhower had written 'military-congressional-industrial complex', but changed it because 'there are still some bills I want passed by Congress'

David Cameron gives Ukraine the go-ahead to use British weapons to strike Russia

Ukraine given ‘green light’ to blitz targets in Russia with long-range Brit weapons amid WW3 fears

Sounds like mafialand and Storm Shadow may be getting better acquainted in the near future?

Where you been Zoom .. The Azov been conducting terrorist attacks against the Russian Homeland for a long time now. Green light .. Red light .. Yellow gonna make no difference. You see what happened after the terrorist attack though Zoomer .. Vlad give 10 Times the retribution and in meantime .. Kerch Bridge still standing ... and good thing too because there are a few bridges in Ukraine that if taken out would really hurt.

In the meantime .. front line continues to collapse .. a big shortage able bodies .. the professional army is mostly gone .. what's left are women and Seniors who were pressed into service and don't want to be there .. don't want to fight .. and the few Azov Battalion fighters that are still around are now refusing to fight.

all the while the meat grinder keeps efficiently churning out Ukrainian Sausage. .. don't let the back-slap fool you .. haven't seen any improvement from the arms aid supposed to be here yesterday.
