The right sure picked the wrong moment in history to stop considering Government terrifying. It's now that they should question government. Now that Trump is giving medical advice to his supporters. Trump supporters have been taught to automatically tag anybody who contradicts Trump as "Fake news!" "Deep State!". They don't even think about it. It's a reflex. So when Dr. Fauci tried to correct Trump's statement that "chloroquine was not going to kill anybody...", he knew the weight that the President's words would have. He knew that there could be bad consequences. But the odds of his expertise prevailing among Trump supporters were null. This is why there are medical experts. When a President talks about anything medical that is of consequence (such as a cure for a pandemic), they step away from the podium, and let a medical experts take their place. Because a medical expert knows what can happen. They know how to talk about these things so people don't go out drinking out of their fish bowls. Trump didn't heed this when he spoke about chloroquine. One American has proven with his life that Dr. Fauci was right. But to those trying to justify this President* by saying "he never said to drink their aquarium cleaner"... You now know that that's a bad idea. But I wonder how many would do it just to prove Trump right.
