And of course fresh air is going to present that with zero context as though he was talking about everyone

    yep, and Trump is right

“Take the guns first, go through due process second” - Trump

we can all agree on this then, right? (left and right)

I support the 2nd for ALL free Americans, but yes, if someone seems to be a threat, take the guns first, due process second

If you read what you quoted you'll see I do not agree. It SHOULD go to court FIRST before ANY civil liberties are infringed. That's what 'due process' literally is. To put another way, that is the process that is due prior to taking civil rights, otherwise it is an unlawful violation of civil rights. Trump has a well-intentioned but decidedly unconstitutional position here.

The only workaround would be for law enforcement to use their 24-hour 'no charges' holding period to arrest a red flag while they obtain a warrant for seizure. Even that I dont think would be constitutional, but as I understand, the SC allows it...

and it is irrelevant unless you can prove the following (and I hammered Trump on that)
    1) Hilary would have been a better president for gun owners and she would have appointed Justices better than the three Trump appointed concerning gun rights

    2) Biden would be more pro gun than Trump

Since we both know you cannot, your point, if any, has no merit

one of the tactics of the anti gun left is this--when we correctly note that it is the Democrat party that has passed every single federal gun restriction, and that the Democrat party is the one that is most hostile to honest people being armed, we get this garbage well "Trump" this or Reagan that. Most of us understand that politicians are pimps but we also understand that in EVERY CASE the democrat alternative is WORSE

Gun owners have every reason to trust Democrats with gun rights less than Democrats trust Republicans with abortion rights.

yet, so many gun banning democrats claim they support the second amendment. I have yet to meet an anti abortion republican who says he or she supports Roe V Wade

    Present this test:
"What restrictions on abortion would you allow as constitutional if there were an amendment that read 'The right of a woman to have an abortion shall not be infringed'"?

well if you mean laws that make it illegal to use a firearm to hurt someone or preventing felons, incompetents or minors buying guns yes. Same with laws that ban clearly hazardous uses of firearms such as shooting in city parks or on city squares-yes.

ex-felons, those that have done their time... punishment comes during sentencing, not after one completes their sentence

want longer sentences, sentence them longer... simple

I have never supported non violent felons being barred. and yes your argument makes some sense. But there are lots of things that felons cannot do legally after being released. I have said for decades that we put too many non violent people in prison while not leaving violent ones there long enough

I bet almost all lawmakers support laws such as those that prevent hunting in municipal parks with high powered rifles, carrying handguns into jails, or selling belt fed machine guns to toddlers

    Not quite bipartisan.

The bill was passed by the Senate on June 23 by a vote of 65–33, with 15 Republicans voting in favor alongside all 50 Democrats

You missing that bumpstock ban counsel? You missing that expansion of executive power to literally rewrite definitions without amending legislation?
Additionally: Its either Reagan or Bush 1 who signs FOPA with the Hughes amendment in it.
    How about them apples?

I have discussed all of those ad nauseum. Reagan's advisors correctly noted that the GOP was soon to lose the senate and incorrectly predicted the courts would strike the Hughes amendment

Is that kinda like "Hey buddy its not what it looks like, I'm not ****ing your wife. She just tripped, and then I fell trying to help her and my penis just happened to slip out repeatedly. " ?
