I saw this on Gab, and agree.

"I've come to the conclusion that the Dems are knowingly & intentionally trying to provoke an armed outbreak of hostilities by pressing for gun control measures that they know will be vetoed or struck down as unconstitutional. They're looking for one or two morons who will shoot off a few rounds at cops or women & children after posting on GAB. No thanks."

Sure, the folks that vote for gun control don't know the difference between a rifle and a machine gun, but the folks leading them around by the feels know exactly what they're doing. They know what they want to do is illegal, that it won't work, and that guns are too popular in this nation to hope to get rid of. They don't want any of that. They want us to start a war for them. They are the crazy girlfriend that pulls her punches until you hit her back- marks on her, none on you, she calls the cops and gets the house.

    Don't fall for it.

Its the only explanation that makes sense in the atmosphere of 'ban guns/no one is coming for your guns.'

Criminals and the mentally impaired do not have a right to guns.

That's easy enough to say... But the definition of 'mentally impaired' and even 'criminal' is becoming increasingly fuzzy. For example, marijuana smokers (both recreational and prescription) are becoming prohibited persons simply because they smoke marijuana, even in states where its been legalized. Not long ago, folks having public assistance/pensions/veterens-benefits direct deposited to their accounts were denied their 2A rights with the 'reasoning' that someone who 'cant' travel to pick up a check (ignoring that many did it merely for convenience) wasn't 'fit' to own a firearm. This was later shot down after local LE got involved and created a media stink about it, but the precedent for what the establishment will consider 'impaired' was exposed as completely unreasonable.

Ah, you support the tyranny of the majority, as long as somebody else's ox is being gored. Rather predictable and dishonest.
