I know very few 'regular' women who want not to work and stay home all day and take care of kids either.

The poor state of the public schools is the reason why parents are calling for school choice. It has nothing to do with "doing away with public education," which I see posted here from time to time by progressives. One part of the problem for public schools currently is that they are getting slammed with illegals. The school ends up with far more children than they had planned, and those kids are the hardest to deal with. Most of them can't speak English, and many them probably had a poor education, even in their native language.

The parents, who can afford it, will take their kids out of the public schools. The parents who can't afford something else are stuck unless they get vouchers.

The Democrat controlled teachers' unions are also responsible. They are more interested in higher salaries than providing a good education for the kids. Randi Winegarden is a prime example of a woke politician and labor activist who cares not for what should be her prime job: helping to provide a decent education to American students.

The job of a parent is not just to raise good children, but to raise good adults.

Don't sell your self so short.
Their upbringing is also done in the larger family of relatives, particularly in-laws, who your kids will be socializing with while you eat Karens rubber jello with a smile. Soon the girls will be in the kitchen, and they boys will be around the barbecue with the guys.
Also, schools and church activities if you are so inclined. Regardless of your beliefs, church functions are pretty well supervised, and the personal growth messaging promotes success in life.

    Don't be so sure...

Sidebar: I'm shocked people are surprised that live chickens come from fertilized eggs.

From what I can gather, most women want to have all the good things there are about being a man and all the good things about being a woman, and none of the bad things about being either.

Good gig if you can get it!

Some are apparently trying harder than most as it is estimated now that a third of all thirty year old adults are still living with mom and dad.

Drug policy of prohibition, now a century old, has resulted in (especially for black folks) absence of father figures. They are all in prison. Fatherless families are dysfunctional.

Role of pharmaceuticals has many bad effects. Risperdal tends to give young males breasts like a female. Treating ADHD with psychoactive drugs not intended for children is harmful. There is a link between autism and childhood vaccines.

Housing prices--renting or buying--have gone through the roof in our area in the last 3 years. I turn 28 this year and know several people who simply cannot swing getting a mortgage yet. If they are at home trying to pay down debt or grow savings, more power to them.

You can rent or share a rental. I live in SoCal and this is what almost all young people do [who don't live at home].

I bought my fixer upper house which is a whole other issue, but rents have gone up very high since really the COVID rent moratorium ended but wages haven't. I've seen it as much as double on some of large complex advertisements. It would really be a stretch for me to have to enter the current market to buy today with the prices on real estate but there is a localized surge in speculation purchasers connected to a some big economic development projects. Anyway, my backyard connects to my parents side yard so I might as well live with them it feels like LOL since I am there or they are here at least once a day.

The entire housing situation is a mess as it is simply part of an economy controlled by those who designed it to promote financialization. There are good reasons why housing used to be quite affordable and why it is no longer. For most of the history of this country, real estate went up with the general inflation rate and was not a speculative commodity. When banking was more or less allowed to run amok in the 80's - 90's, many laws were changed which allowed speculation to rear it's ugly head, capped off by the early 2000's housing bubble blown by the FED.

Just the same, young people [generally speaking] do not save anymore and this is what you must do to get into the housing market. Back in the day, pretty much everybody saved [as there was no other way].

Well there is no incentive to save. Bigger incentive to robinhood that money generally. I mean I think the last time I looked, my savings account interest was 0.1% whereas if I wanted to borrow their money, I would be paying almost 8% for a 30 year mortgage and even more for a personal loan. My dad blames HGTV for the housing problems though. Says it made people have unrealistic expectations so anyone wanting to sell a property needs to do all modern finishes just to get people interested while at the same time convincing people they could make fortunes in 60 days flipping houses so either way prices have to keep climbing.

Saving is EVERYTHING. It doesn't mean you have to keep it in a traditional savings account. There are many options...CDs, treasuries [notes and bonds], etc.

I think HGTV was just exploiting the mania made possible by lower than market interest rates that goosed prices first in the 80's to create the S&L crisis, then the first housing bubble that popped in 2007-8, and now the result of 0 interest rates for years, QE, and all the rest. The outcome was completely predictable [and indeed was predicted by many].
