When the idiots at A&E said they were throwing the leader of the Duck Dynasty off the program, the whole family rose up and said if he goes we go.

Now what is even better the advertisers on the program are backing the family. That means that the family can take their hugely popular program to another network complete with advertisers on board. The fools at A&E are throwing away millions for their political correctness. Serves them right. This is just another example of leftwingers being completely stupid as usual.

 

I doubt their contracts would allow them to do that--jump networks.

 

Now if we could just find a way to put a similar kibosh on all the other 500 crap reality tv shows we could take back quality television programing.

 

I'm glad to hear this. I would have done the same thing and I would have thought much less of Phil Robertson's family if they hadn't rallied around him.

I also think that A&E should let the Robertsons take their show to another network if they want to continue with it. After this nonsense, they might not...

Actually since last November, i don't have cable so "Duck Dynasty" is not something i watch. The Super Bowl isn't that far away. After that I probably won't watch twenty hours of TV til next August.

It is A&E that broke the contract. No family leader, the contract is broken. So the Ducks should be free to go anywhere they want to, and more power to them to go.

 

Yeah, watching rednecks IS important and, American Idol isn't on yet.

 

I am curious about this too.

It will be interesting to see how the contract was written up and who has what control.

 

I think it is more important than Glee and especially more important than "talent" shows like American Idol.

This family shows how to create and sustain a thriving business, lot to learn there.

Why are you ok with being a bigot and calling them rednecks? I cannot believe the left keeps throwing out that word.

A&E before 2002 had some interesting programs. I mean interesting to smart people, that is.

 

These guys should retire. they're set for life.

Welcome to reality. I think contrary to popular Liberal opinion, you'll find that if we have a group which is more bigoted, it is the Left. It becomes confusing I know, because the Left is VERY vocal about saying "I'm not bigoted, but the Right is full of bigots". The right doesn't make the opposite claim very much. (well, I do, but I'm not actually a rightwinger)

It only makes sense that the people who are actually the bigots are the ones who are going to make the most ruckus about NOT being the bigots.

And I do believe, that it was the Left (mostly) who were so against the blacks a hundred years ago. And I believe it was the left who was most responsible for fighting against the Civil Rights Act. Kennedy came up with it, but it was a Dem (Eastland) who tried to keep it off the floor in committee, the strongest opposition to the bill came from a Dem (Strom Thurmond) and another Democrat (Robert Byrd) actually filibustered against the bill.

So if you think it's the Right who's bigoted, think again.
And consider that the Left only sticks up mostly for blacks (and even woman) who are liberal. They will CASTIGATE a black (or woman) who is a Conservative.

That is REAL proof of how the left "LOVES" blacks and women.

Face it. It's all related in its foundation to why Obamacare isn't working, and why blacks are STILL living the lives of second class citizens. The Left does not have the great motives they claim to have.

 

The show isn't about a bunch of rednecks? I hadn't watched it yet so, maybe I'm wrong. Seems like that 'moonshiners' nonsense I've seen advertised.

I find "reality" tv to be dishonest, idiotic and generally repulsive, whether its bearded "rednecks", Khardashians (never watched them, either), people from New Jersey playing that stereotype, or shows where the hot chick pretends to go on dates with three dolts, while two guys with stedicams, a couple of light guys and a boom microphone hover around.

A friend of mine put me up to watching Duck Dynasty a few months ago. It was appallingly banal and really really stupid.

And, like a lot of other people, my friend took it entirely at face value, and loved it. I didn't have the heart to tell him that the family room of the double wide was almost undoubtedly a set.

And I didn't think enough of the Duck Dynasty crowd's hillbilly schtick to want to watch any more of it.

I have not seen this show in months (and only saw it once), and I won't watch it again.

Nothing in this little kerfuffle changed my opinion about the Duck Dynasty crowd at all.

 

Several destinations come to mind.

 

Most of them are under manhole covers.

 

Far left liberals are really astounded and upset that about 90% of the country are against them and A&E. They demand tolerence it is time that they demonstrate tolerence themselves.

And if you had the smallest clue what you were rambling about you would know that A&E and the Duck family have no contract between them. A&E have a distribution deal with the production company, who in turn has the contracts with the Ducks. So if A&E cancel the show, the production company is free to shop the show around. Happens all the time

Well let A&E throw away tens of millions of dollars if not into the hundreds of millions. If they are so stupid as to cater to a small percentage of loud mouthed malcontent left wing radicals, so be it.
