An elephant is not a defenseless animal, as the species has been known to kill its fair share of villagers. They are a violent, dangerous species with invasive tendencies as they wipe out entire crops and farms, no different from coyotes or feral hogs.

    Basic Capitalism 101

If there is a service that needs to be provided another corporation will pick up the slack and employ those who lost their jobs.

They are different than feral hogs and coyotes, but I didn't think about their violent side. However, the next time it may be tigers or panthers, or Santa's reindeer.

Utterly unwarranted hatred for wild animals duly noted for the record.

Such is a theory, not a guarantee. It is nothing more than a delusional belief to justify a scorched earth approach to craving revenge.

Elephants are NOT predators which exposes the FALLACY of that puerile allegation.

They will only attack to defend their young or their territory.

If any species becomes invasive and threatens the well being of the people, even if it is an endangered species, the animal naturally loses as it will be euthanized. Such is how the world ultimately works.

Coming from an avid supporter of the NRA's odious scorched earth delusions that is amusing.

Such territorial disputes also develop as a result of overcrowding in a perceived territory, causing the animal to be unnaturally aggressive to anything in the area.

It is not the NRA that is supported on the part of myself. Rather it is the belief that the human race is nothing more than an invasive, dangerous species that needs to be controlled, reduced, and ultimately exterminated through any means necessary. The larger the number of individuals that can be killed off, regardless of the means utilized, the better off things are for the planet overall.

What profit? Them people are dirt poor and you know it.

And wasn't it that ogre of a Trump who supported the idea of having his white middle aged trophy hunters to legally import in the ivory?

What does such have to do with the present discussion pertaining to either poaching, or the true nature of the human species being nothing more than an invasive species to the planet?

The government of the nation of Africa, and the conservation efforts that profit from the hunts being allowed to take place.

Pray tell, exactly what is so wrong with such? Combating the legal purchasing of and collecting of ivory does nothing to address the illegal black market of ivory thriving because of the actions of poachers.

Other animals adopt orphan young, but elephants are particularly sensitive animals.

    This is beyond repulsive.

the government of that those nations in Africa that allow trophy hunting and the businesses that profit off it
you are required to purchase a permeant and tags and you are also required to hire a local guide to accompany you on the hunt
we are talking about 10,000 dollars per hunt worth of permeants and tags
you cant just fly to Africa hop off the plane and go kill elephants you would be arrested for poaching

trophy hunting in Africa is estimated to bring in almost 2 billion into the African nations economies
African trophy hunting is big business
so these African nations are just as guilty for promoting and profiting off these hunts so best you direct some of you outrage at those African nations

Whoa! Yep men in America hunt; but lets not forget the Chinese thirst for animal parts for their stupid Chinese medicine--ivory, shark fins, tiger bones to name a few.

I didn’t see anything about predation of livestock on your map.
So really you aren’t any different than a trophy hunter because the elephant and lion have value only to you to look at. Too bad for the native that must live with them every day. Pretty elitist if you ask me.

And you don’t believe in evolution I’m assuming? Someone who really believes in the theory hasn’t any right to make distinctions about what species survive.
