Today’s journalists are often little more than left-wing thugs

One of the more interesting things about 2021 is seeing which well-known left-wing people are true civil libertarians – that is, they actually believe in the Constitution, although they still have a very different vision for America than conservatives do. The two most surprising ones (for me, at least) are Naomi Wolf and Glenn Greenwald. Both of them have been staunch leftists from the get-go, but both are deeply concerned by the constitutional breakdowns we’re seeing in America. That’s why, if you’re going to read one article today that isn’t already on American Thinker’s site, I recommend Glenn Greenwald’s look at how major media companies aggressively target ordinary people.

To the extent media types thought of themselves as knights on white horses, they used to see their role as attacking the powerful while protecting and defending the little guy. Indeed, as old Hollywood movies showed to the point of cliche, journalists came from the “little guy,” blue collar class.

Old-time reporters were scrappy, working-class men and women who used their bully pulpit to inveigh against wealth and power. They were patriots, but they felt that their job was to keep a gimlet eye on the government to ensure that the Constitution and laws of the United States applied to all.

Today, journalists are graduates of pricey schools. They’re not scrappy, working-class people. Instead, they’re whiny, entitled, privileged, and anti-American. They believe that their bully pulpit is to be used to advance a neo-socialist ideology that puts their rarefied, college-educated middleclass cohorts in charge of America for the good of all the little black and brown people and the punishment of all those blue collar white people who still think they’re entitled to a piece of the American pie....

Today’s lamestream media are no longer objective reporters of news. They often make news instead of reporting it, The are biased, advocated for a cause. They are bicoastal elitists now. They hate the working class of America.

It seems some can’t handle their class warriors and woke elites being criticized for their excesses...

People have elite class warriors? Can I get one? Is there a long waiting list?

    Everybody doesn't think like that.

People are somehow surprised that a person who goes into journalism is a person oriented to examining and dealing with society and its issues. They are actively engaged.
People who don't concern themselves about these things don't enter the field of reporting, writing, photographing, etc.
The natural tendency, then, is that those in journalism are centered on human action and the understanding of it. That doesn't mean they are better than other people and it certainly doesn't mean they always correct and never have a prejudice. They are outward directed. That is, not focused on conserving what is known, but revealing what is not. In the broadest meaning of the term (not the current distortion that all political verbiage suffers), this is 'liberal'. That is the personality type drawn to journalism. It is naïve to expect people to be other than people or conform to some imagined standard. It is for the consumer to think, reason, research and not just accept whatever is put before them. Many "lies" that circulate are just mistakes, some are intentional. The big lies are almost invisible and hard to dislodge. Pointing them out and suggesting alternatives can get you nailed to a cross.

To paraphrase the OP since it fits so much more ACCURATELY when placed into the CONTEXT of that slimeball Tucker Carlson...

Today, journalists (AKA Tucker Carlson) are graduates of pricey schools. They’re not scrappy, working-class people. Instead, they’re whiny, entitled, privileged, and anti-American. They believe that their bully pulpit is to be used to advance a neo-FASCIST ideology that puts their rarefied, college-educated UPPERCLASS cohorts in charge of America for the good of all the WEALTHY white ELITISTS and the punishment of all those little black and brown people people who still think they have EARNED through HARD WORK a piece of the American pie....

    That makes way more SENSE!

The "journalists" are the the foot soldiers of the elites and are fighting against the plebes. They use identity politics to accomplish this. They are class warriors and they are fighting against the interests of ordinary Americans.

    Examples:
    1. They sell foreign wars that benefit only the elite.
    2. They support "peaceful protests" that destroy the lives of millions of ordinary Americans, thousands of small businesses and enrich globalist billionaires.
    3. They support lockdowns that accomplish the same results as 2 above.
    4. They support open borders to enrich the rich at the expense of the working class.
    5. They support energy taxes that harm the most vulnerable for the profit of the most powerful.
    6. They work tirelessly to destroy the 1st and 2nd amendments for the benefit of the elite.

    They are nothing but propaganda:

    Yup!

Got to wonder if that dinner that Matt Gaetz mentioned he had with Tucker did NOT include Tucker's wife which would explain why he DENIED all knowledge of it.

Mainstream media has no credibility, and that is sad for me, sad but too damn true.

Operation Mockingbird was successful beyond their wildest dreams.

And some people see things very differently. While choose to see the MSM as the ultimate 'enemy', I see much bigger problems.

Justifying violence takes many forms, like liking Hockeydads post about how journalists are the enemy and who would miss them if they’re gone? It’s just propaganda.

It's not lamestream media, it is for profit media that is the problem. What do you think happens when the incentive for journalism is not good journalism, but how to make the most bucks in the shortest time? The name of the game is to keep people tuning in, and you don't do that with good and honest journalism, but rather with playing to people's preconceptions and emotions. Both the left and right do it, but it was arguably Fox News who first perfected this business model.

You're right, but one cannot ignore the role of Operation Mockingbird and the role of corporate and government propaganda in how MSM delivers its product.

The LEAST biased journalism can be found on NON-PROFIT sources like NPR.
