Do you really think Republicans are going to be put off by his guilt on campaign finance law?

I'm not sure he broke any law at all. Even if he did, he should have gotten what Hilary got for the same so-called crime, a fine. I just love the way you persistently dodge my point about selective prosecution. Point to me anyone else in the entire country who would be prosecuted for this?

    The trial has barely started.

Maybe he won't be found guilty. Maybe he'll be fined.

There have been campaign finance law cases that have gone all the way to the USSC.

He is correct. Being found guilty in a fraudulent trial will make him a martyr of sorts.

Shouldn't prosecute people for things that aren't criminal. It just makes the prosecution look like a villain.

A show trial is excellent campaign tactics for Trump. All he has to do is run on the platform that he'll fight this bureaucratic injustice and everybody deals with bureaucracy (fascism) and they ****ing hate it.

Of course not! Republicans don't buy into any of this New Yuck nonsense. Nobody gives a rat's ass about Republican's views on the matter.
Our reps are most barking dogs who have no real power. They can only bark while corrupt Democrat politicians, prosecutors and judges pervert the law to destroy their political enemy.

Now that's the funniest thing you've said all day, bar none! A guilty verdict is a foregone conclusion in Manhattan.

If one goes by the candidates favorable/unfavorable ratings, first begun in 1956 by Gallup and Pew research, almost every candidate chosen by both major parties were viewed by the public above 50% favorable and unfavorable below 50% unfavorable with 3 exceptions not counting 2024.

    1964 Barry Goldwater 43% favorable/47% unfavorable

    2016 Donald Trump 36% favorable/60% unfavorable and Hillary Clinton 38% favorable/56% unfavorable

    2020 Donald Trump 43% favorable/56% unfavorable and Joe Biden 48% favorable/46% unfavorable

Goldwater although below 50% favorable wasn’t above 50% unfavorable, the same with Joe Biden, below 50% favorable, but under 50% unfavorable. Only two major party candidates were seen both under 50% favorable and over 50% unfavorable. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Trump twice. Trump and Clinton have the distinction of being viewed favorably by less than 40% of all Americans. Not even Barry Goldwater was viewed that low or badly.

Today, Biden is viewed 40.6% favorable/55.2% unfavorable with Trump is viewed 42.6% favorable/53.7% unfavorable.

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/favorability/2024candidates.html

I would say if one uses favorable/unfavorable, prior to 2016 with the exception of Barry Goldwater, all presidential candidates weren’t disliked by most Americans. In fact, most Americans had a positive view of both major party candidates. Beginning in 2016 is when both major parties’ candidates began to be disliked and unwanted. Is it the system or the populace? I think both. Both major parties have shrunk. Independents has risen from 30% of the electorate in 2006 up to 42% today. This shrinkage has left both major parties filled with ideologues with very few pragmatists. One party continues to move right, the other to the left leaving middle America without a party to call home. The ideologues of both major parties come up with candidates like Clinton and Trump or this year Biden and Trump. There so much to this that it would take a book to explain it.

Anybody and everybody who has conducted themself similarly.

Why do you expect POTUS to be beyond the reach of the Law we all have to abide by?

He**** is not being prosecuted for any reason other than FOUR Grand Juries have indicted him**** for multiple offences.

You wouldn't get charged for entering an NDA as it's not a crime and you didn't threaten the establishment

It's really chicken **** and the only people that deny that are the types claiming he's literally Hitler.

What's on trial here is the bureaucratic fascism that is trying to take away democracy.

It's a win win for Trump.

    • Trump rented the apartment and had the 8-month affair with McDougall, while Melania was pregnant.
    • Trump had the sex with Stormy Daniels.
    • Trump asked Cohen to pay the Hush Money to Stormy Daniels.
    • Trump signed the checks.
    • Trump reported the money as legal fees.
    • Trump made the statements on Access Hollywood.
    • Trump wanted no more public airing of his sex scandals before the 2016 election.
    • Trump declared business tax write-offs of the "legal fees".
Oh, and BTW, Joe Biden wasn't involved in any of this. Alan Bragg wasn't involved in any of this. Hunter Biden wasn't invovled either.

You don't agree with the idea of having laws concerned with banking and finance?

Do you believe that lying and cheating with political campaign accounting should be perfectly OK?

It is as if his defenders have redefined what a "crime" is when it comes to Trump.

Yes, I believe he said he could walk out of one of his hotels and shoot someone and never be penalized.

Somehow, he DOES seem to believe that.

lol…trump is stupid. He whines incessantly about how the trials are keeping him from campaigning and boasts how they are making him more popular, yet he has done everything he can to delay his days in court.
He should have demanded speedy trials so he would be able to campaign, and if found guilty used his convictions to increase his popularity.

A peculiar phenomena has taken over the T-MAGA group. No matter what Trump has done is just fine with them. They will spin it, rationalize it, or project ....but most important , they continue to defend this bloke. No amount of logic, facts will alter their
perception as they have accepted the Trump/Faux misinformation as their guiding "truth" and Trump is a victim by their estimation There are two worlds in this country : The REAL world, and Trump world orchestrated and defined by him and based on Trump's fabrications, lies , and spin. His kind of mentality that operates on "DIVIDE and CONQUER".........is actually working. The division is so extreme now and getting more hardened .
EXACTLY~~ He DOES believe he is above the law. He DOES believe he can do whatever h wants and not face consequences. It is this "belief " ( the fixed belief that is a delusion) that is the basis of all his rage and need for retribution. He is delusional .... delusions of exceptionalism, grandiosity, and superiority ...... so his self view cannot accept the restrictions of the law, society etc. In his mind the rules do not apply to him.....(any rules) Therefore the overt hostility to the legal system that he believes is against him. He believes he is unbroachable, & exceptional, This is why , IMO, the judge is handling him quite well. He has some serious psych problems and they have surfaced more blatantly as his need to be POTUS and combined with the legal issues that are consequences to his behavior... have put him in a corner .People like him ( sociopaths) meltdown when cornered. He has mentally deteriorated significantly in the past three years. :: Ever since he LOST the election, which he could not handle... in a responsible and mature way. He has been given a LOT Of psychological power by his devotees, and this is also part of the problem........only adding to his delusions of superiority. One has to be careful in dealing with peple like him as they will out con you, out manipulate you , try to dismiss you , fire you, , disparage you as soon as you are of no use to them OR have offended them. They are very very devious , and motivated by self interst , ego, and narcissism. They feel no remorse , ( are not capable of remorse )....and that makes them dangerous.
