No, President, or in tRaitor tRumps case - president, is a threat to "gun owners". Which is why President Biden's position on "guns" is foolish, it only pisses people off. Gun owners and gun control advocates alike. The first because it's waving a red flag at an already angry bull and the other because they know it's failed policy before he spoke it.

I think you are right. Gun bans can only be enacted by Republicans, because their base typically agrees with anything they do and day, and Dems would of course agree with this one because its what they want anyway. In the other hand, when Dems propose it, its DOA because Republicans would never agree with it when it comes from them.

The point is that he is the biggest threat to gun owners specifically

Better Trump than anyone the Democrats are likely to run.

I’m absolutely right. He even got the NRA to help write the rule change. What did gun loving republicans do? They made excuses for him like they do now. But what happened when Biden did the exact same thing with pistol braces? They lose their lid. You either support the 2nd or you don’t. Don’t only do it when it’s convenient

His judicial picks were vetted by the Federalist Society.

Like said, that’s literally the only thing he done good. This cycle he wants to do other things as well that are against my values but that’s not the topic. I would be more than obliged to talk about those things privately. As far as guns go, he is the worst one.

All his values are democratic values. I can’t understand for the life of me why he ran as a Republican. He’s for making gun control, he’s for making more cities, he’s against wars. The only values he holds that’s opposed to democrat values is immigration and border security

On the other hand, it opened up the possibility of litigating these things in court.

You can't take these things to court unless you can show damages.

While I'm not suggesting this was some kind of 3D chess move on Trump's part, it actually proved of great benefit to have this taken to court.

It will be ammo in the fight over braces. It will be ammo in the fight of over-reaching 3 letter agencies.

The NFA and the ATF has been put into a very precarious position....and it all stemmed from the bump stock ban.

They were charged for using them as weapons. What’s telling is your selective reading; focusing on what seemed innocuous (to you) while ignoring baseball bats, night sticks, tire irons, rebar and, firearms.

I disagree, other than the bump stock nonsense (which would have been FAR WORSE under hilary) and his poor loser meltdown after losing, most of what Trump did was pretty good

Trump has never been a huge supporter of gun rights. He does come from NYC, so it shouldn't be surprising.
But he has mostly sided with Conservative groups on this issue because that's where most of his political support comes from, and the Left absolutely refused to compromise with him in any way or make any deals, so there was virtually nothing to be gained by giving in to issues they wanted.
I don't think this is an issue that Trump really personally cares about so much. He had other much bigger priorities.

I suspect that in terms of personal opinions on the matter, Biden and Trump are not actually that much different, but their political affiliations and allegiances will result in them supporting very opposite political policies.

Trump announced that he had signed a memorandum directing the attorney general to “dedicate all available resources to complete the review of the comments received, and, as expeditiously as possible, to propose for notice and comment a rule banning all devices that turn legal weapons into machineguns.” The following month, on March 23, the Justice Department announced that it was proposing a rule to that effect, which was finalized about nine months later —
