Trump Made Air Force Stop Overnight at His Scotland Golf Course

    According to a Friday report by Politico, an Air National Guard crew running supplies from the US to Kuwait was rerouted to stay at Trump’s Turnberry golf club and resort in Scotland. President Donald Trump’s golf courses in Ireland and Scotland have been losing money, and it appears Trump has been using government funds to prop up these properties by forcing military members and government officials to stay at his properties. This is highly unusual for the members of the military, who typically stay and refuel at military bases.

    “The crew were so confused by what was happening when they were rerouted to Scotland to refuel at this tiny airport outside of Trump Turnberry because they had never done that before in the fifty-plus trips they had taken to do these routine supply trips,” Natasha Betrand, who broke the story along with Bryan Bender, said on The Rachel Maddow Show on Friday. “They didn’t have enough money; their per diem allowance didn’t even allow them to buy food and drinks there. They felt totally out of place.”

    Another day, another abuse of presidential power.

    It’s a sad day that these types of events are not even surprising any longer but expected.

    AFTER reading a NY Times piece, I'm going to rate this one a mixed bag. It appears the contract to land military planes at the airport near the Trump property was signed before Trump took office. And sometimes military personnel stay a Trump's property and sometimes at other facilities. Not a deal breaker, but once again we see the problems of Trump just being Trump creating conflicts of interest.

    Can't get too excited about this story.

    Don't see it. Even if he is re-elected, Big Business is going to move to have him taken away - the guy is too much of a loon and
    that hurts the economy. He just wasted an entire week having a hissy fit about a weather map, the dude is fiddling while Rome burns.

    Just HILARIOUS to think that the republican clown ran as a pro-business candidate, Danny.

    We now have a manufacturing sector in recession, business investment in the toilet, farmers turned into welfare queens, the Fed forced to cut interest rates for the first time in years to try to revive the sputtering economy, and tariffs creating all kinds of uncertainty for business leaders and investors while the reckless republican moron calls their companies "weak" and "badly run".

    LOL … the guy is a ******* DISASTER...

    I am against any president profiteering off their position.

    I didn’t like Obama, you must have me mistaken for someone else — either that or you know this is wrong and are scrambling to say “it’s fine because that other guy did it, but to a lesser extent”.

    As long as the libs are being trolled, that’s all that matters, right?

    I saw desperation in defense of some of the things Obama did, what trump supporters allow is a new level of disturbing.
