There are 12 open investigations and Trump is a sleaze ball with a history of shady financial deals. Chances are he's going to end up in court when he leaves office. His business partners from Florida are already under investigation for money laundering (Dezer Brothers).

Trumpets don't care about the law. It's that simple. Something in their upbringing missed the part about honesty, lying, fair play, and respect for the law. It would also appear they missed the chapter on self respect. These are bad people that care for nothing except self gratification. They love Trump because he is one of them. They have gone through life with a capital ME emblazoned on their soul. They will never change so explaining things like honesty, empathy, and decency is a complete waist of time.

Even if that were true, it’s beside the point.

The fact is that Trump welcomed and took aid from the intelligence services of a rival power at a time when that government was running a sophisticated cyber attack on the United States.

He sold himself, and is in the service of a foreign power, and he is sitting in the White House.

Moreover, he openly advertised publicly that he is perfectly willing to do it again, and is openly for sale.

    We’d repeat the list.

But you’ve been twisting your neck into a pretzel looking the other way and denying documented fact.

And the list is growing steadily.

Declaring that the FEC can “piss off”, is tantamount to declaring that the President is above the law.

No loyal American would ever say such a thing.

But you’re not the first Trumpster to say he is.

 Like Pelosi & Co. have been oblivious to the origins of the Steele dossier for 3 yrs.? (D)'s didn't propose any amendments to FEC or FARA ... until Trump said he'd accept foreign intel if it was offered. The DNC commissioned foreigners to actively seek foreign intel, and doing the oppo research by employing proxies doesn't take anything away from what they've done. The Senate should refuse until the DNC is held accountable for what they did in 2016. If the House can support the foreign research done for the benefit of their party, the GOP is entitled to follow suit.

I'm not sure if you are able to read or not so I apologize if I have made a bad assumption. Anyway, I have attached a short but detailed article on the Steele dossier that explains why there was no wrongdoing on the part of the Clinton campaign. In fact, a conservative group began funding the "oppo" research, dropped it, then the Democrats picked it up, then a .......... well, you can read the article. It's well documented and clearly the Trumpets are pounding sand again. Bottom line, Steele informed the FBI and that's where the fun began.

If the FEC is a toothless tiger then so is the homicide squad at your local police station. If you blatantly commit crimes without a care, then anything goes. Get one thing straight, Trump stood before God and humanity and said he was okay with breaking the law. Chairman of the FEC cleared it up for Trumpets yesterday. That's all there is to it, really.

So as long as you use a pass through (another foreign national which is now the big complaint) it is OK to get dirt from Russia which is, of course, the rank hypocrisy that the left is trying to push.

When democrats do it, they call it oppo research. When republicans do it they call it a crime.

Steele was hired after republicans used Fusion GPS who normally just gathered past news articles put together for politicians.

So, Trump said he might consider listening to foreign actors who say they have dirt and the media went ballistic.

What is that same media going to say when the indictments come down against Clinton campaign actors who solicited dirt from our enemies to create the Dossier?

He played the Democrat media like a fiddle and they bit.

Fact is Mueller reported that the Trump campaign was approached by foreign actors on several occasions and they were turned down.

Adam Schiff was all in when he was called by people who claimed to be Russians with dirt on Trump.

You folks are about as dense as the media ,,, and why wouldn't you be?

I agree Clinton is a low bar, it's not however a defense...it's just reality.

I think it all depends on what is said...if it's a situation where they have something they want to phyiscally give you that's when you set up a meeting with the FBI...if they are just gonna tell you that the person was visiting Norway or has a home there...or maybe a business...or it's our opinion they are corrupt...ok...thanks. FBI isn't needed, it's nothing.

Here is what democrats are pushing.

Let's say Macron wants to tell a democrat candidate that something was not right about one of Trump's businesses in that country. Any democrat candidate receiving that information would be breaking the law.

"Clinton paid for [opposition research to help her campaign] by a [foreign] private investigation that ended up being reported to the FBI. That is what is illegal prima facie.

Who else do you know that took opposition research from a foreign entity who asked for or got money in return? If you know of any you should report it to the FBI.

Being OK or not by me, you, or anybody is a million miles from being illegal, which is your accusation.

I don't know about being "screwed up" but my idea of the law is 100% accurate. You should read it sometime. Paying a foreign entity for campaign help is a clear and evident violation of campaign finance law.

You should get together with Sandy and spend a few minutes reading the law. You'd be surprised how that helps one's understanding of the law.

You need to check your own logic, and not ignore the key factor. Trump did not say (or do) he would pay for the information, and that is the only thing that would make it illegal. The Steele dossier was opposition research obtained from and paid for to a foreign entity, which is precisely what you inadvertently said and what Weintraub is talking about.

Actually the argument is 'anything of value' which now means that no democrat candidate can talk to any foreign national about anything that might help their campaign.

    "
"For one, Steele was working for a U.S. company and not a foreign government. During the 2016 presidential primary, Fusion GPS, a Washington, D.C.-based research firm, was hired by the conservative outlet Washington Free Beacon to do opposition research on Trump on behalf of a Republican opposed to the businessman’s candidacy. When the Beacon pulled out of the deal, Fusion approached Perkins Coie, a law firm representing the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and asked if it would like to fund it. In April 2016, the firm agreed and Fusion continued its work, hiring Steele to investigate potential ties between Trump and the Russian government."

I think that the majority of people that heard that part of Stephanopoulis's interview all heard the same thing, so did foreign adversaries and they were all delighted to hear it I'm sure. Now they can't wait to crawl all over Trump to give him some juicy dirt in exchange for whatever it is they want. Today, Trump is trying to walk that back in any way he can but nope - too late - we all heard it right from the horse's mouth. Today he's even claiming that Don McGahn "may have been confused" in his Mueller testimony. Oh boy, and you will believe that too.

That is partially accurate. The phrase that is ignorantly bantered about is "thing of value." Per the law a thing of value must be able to be monetized, meaning a clear and evident dollar value must be able to be put on the thing. The dossier is a thing of value because a specific amount of dollars was paid for it. If a foreign caterer volunteers his services, it is most likely a known thing of value because everybody knows precisely what the caterer routinely charges for his services. If someone gets information, dirty or not, it is impossible to assign a known and evident dollar value to the information, ergo, by law, it is not a thing of value.

Yet it is now any information that helps a campaign is a 'thing of value' that is being pushed.

Steele was a foreign entity (government entity is not required) who also used foreign sources for his report. That is the only thing that matters.

Absolutely true. That is what I meant by being bantered about -- popular but entirely incorrect.
