This?: You don't have to keep your belief to yourself , NOBODY SAID THAT........just don't force it down other's throats.... ."""

By that I meant , Don't object when others don't use the Magic Words Merry Christmas, Don't use PUBLIC property for religious icons or ideas.

Oh really? So then why have you been engaging so much in the matter of retail outlets saying Happy holidays? I don't think you realise how stupid what you just said is and how much it made you sound hypocritical!

Uh, many people don't celebrate Christmas.

And many people did object to employees not being able to say Merry Christmas per instructions from their employer.

A generic, inclusive "Happy Holidays" wasn't good enough for righties.....

Because a lot of the imaginary war on Christmas was because employers told employees not to say Merry Christmas.

    you stated :
    chris155au said:
Okay, we're not talking about Trump here and the 'War on Christmas' in general"""

    I corrected you.

NO one is demanding that all the trappings of YOUR Christmas disappear, NO one....you are free to have Christmas as you like but,

CHRISTIANS DO NOT OWN the UNITED STATES and Americans have a right to have an opinion....and NOT celebrate Christmas.

No, I don't think that acknowledging the existence of other holidays is an anti-Christian sentiment. I'm not offended when people tell me Merry Christmas and I have no idea why any Christian would be so sensitive as to be offended when someone tells them Happy Holidays.

It was what he was initially pointing at, specifically, but he could mean more. Even if he does, it doesn't matter. It still won't be anything the Executive branch has control over or should have control over. He's just doing his usual bit of promising impossible things to manipulate gullible people.

Nobody forces you to celebrate Christmas, just don't demand that those of us that do celebrate Christmas do it behind closed doors. There has been a steady drumbeat by anti Christmas people to not put up nativity scenes and even Christmas trees in public places and that's part of the war on Christmas.

I wasn't talking about Trump and the War on Christmas. Earlier you said this:

    Well where are they?

    Because it wasn't relevant.

Why do you have to government subsidies in the form of use of government property for your religion in order to practice it? No on is telling you have have to celebrate behind closed doors. They just don't want taxpayers having to back it.

Okay, but I don't see how someone objecting to it is forcing their beliefs down people's throats. By the way, I think objecting to it is stupid.

NOBODY HAS!!! Isn't LYING a sin for christians?????????

NO, it is NOT. It is a separation of religion from taxpayer's money.

Christians do NOT OWN THE UNITED STATES.......how GREEDY( another Christian sin) to want to use OTHER people's money for YOUR religion!

Most religions have TAX FREE land that they can put up all sorts of religious idols, they don't/shouldn't need anyone else's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas is a Christian greeting, happy holidays is for everyone and inclusive. Exclusion seems the default mindset amongst the not-really-at-all-Chist-like peeps, who, amusingly enough, tend to be the ones complaining about this fake war on Christmas.

So your on record as saying nativity scene can be on public property if tax payers don't pay for it because some tax payers are anti Christmas. Does this same standard apply to all other government expenditures or just Christmas? Using your standards tax payer dollars can't be used for anything that anyone disagrees with.

You are deliberately misunderstanding...(I hope it's that and not totally incapable of understanding)

A nativity scene is RELIGIOUS.....if it is on PUBLIC property that is RELIGION using PUBLIC property.

You: ""Using your standards tax payer dollars can't be used for anything that anyone disagrees with.""

NOT if it's RELIGIOUS, (look up the word.)

Yeah, of course. But how is saying "Happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" going to help them to NOT celebrate Christmas?

You didn't correct me because what I said was correct! The person who I directed that towards and I were NOT talking about Trump and the 'War on Christmas' in general. I wasn't saying that this thread isn't about Trump and the 'War on Christmas.' If I was, THEN you would have been correcting me.

    War on a holiday.

I didn't realize that despite conquering the known world, Christians were in fact snowflakes who believe their entire religion and way of life is under threat because not everyone likes Christ nor care about his artificially determined birthday. (alignment with saturnalia being imperative).

Christmas decorations are all over the place on public property, I think what you mean is that they are not promoting the religious propaganda you want them too, nothing wrong with secular Christmas decorations, if you want religious decorations out them up on your private property

where there are religious propaganda, other religions want the same right, when confronted with this, Christians often decide to remove all religious decorations rather then let the infidels as they see them have the same right
