There's nothing illegal about doing business with China. Ivanka does business with China too, and with many other countries. You need more than "seems suspicious" to have a true investigation. You can't even get a subpoena with that.

Yes, as long as he has some sort of probable cause, of course it will be okay for there to be such an investigation. I honestly haven't heard a single Democrat disagree.

Mueller had nothing to do with investigating the China/Ivanka dealings. At all. you might want to read what he was actually charged with investigating.

 

As a conservative, I'm a bit old fashioned in that there should actually be evidence for an actual crime before an indictment. I know I know, it's an old fuddy duddy way of looking at it! If this were an actual, serious campaign finance violation, charges would have been brought by FEC, not by a blue state DA.

The ONLY defense that Trump will have (and they are shopping this one around) is that he would have paid Stormy even if he weren't running. If successful, that will get him off of the hook for the felony, leaving it just a misdemeanor. However, Trump has a long, long, long history of affairs, so prosecution is going to dig into why this whole hush money and capture-and-kill schemes appear to have only started after he was running. He's going to have a hard time answering that one.

And the moment you have evidence that Biden somehow did favors for China in exchange for money, that will become relevant. Until then, it's just a poor excuse to run and hide from Trump's crimes.
