You claim to be an engineer - start acting like one.

Contrast the fact rating of the NOAA against your "Quackery" and "Low Fact" sources.

Attacking the messenger to dodge the data = denial.

That Fact rating of the NOAA is quite impressive, isn’t it? So who is denying the messenger?

Trofin Lysenko had an impressive government agency produced fact rating as well.

How incredible! Some single denier had his own fact rating against the entire NOAA entity.

Once again you miss the point that Eisenhower warned against 6 decades ago. Do you actually believe without question anything that comes out of a government agency which confirms your narrative? Real engineers question everything.

That's a reflection the biases of your rater. Had you bothered to look into the question you would have learned that NOAA's presentation graphic misleads without technically lying.

Your claim that it “misleads” is based on the fact that you don’t like the high rating they were given.

The vast majority of global warming alarmists mislead. They are masters of how to lie with statistics.

I'm indifferent to such ratings, high or low. Since I believe you haven't looked at the link I provided, I judge your reply to be uninformed.

I glanced at the link. The first thing that was presented was a NOAA graph. This one is a little older, but I already had it on file. It will demonstrate the point.

He complained about the color. Oh poor little snowflake denier didn't like red for the hotter years, and blue for the cooler years. Didn't complain about the data - no that darned red and blue, just like the piping that plumbers use for their hot and cold water.

That was enough. I didn't need to see any more.

Why were different colors used except to mislead? Global average temperature ( whatever that means) has been increasing for at least the last 150 years. Most people can’t tell the difference between air temperatures with a 1.5 degree Centigrade difference at the same wind velocity and humidity. You can do this experiment at home.

Color was not the issue he cited. Your post is a swing and a miss.

That was his first point. The first point sets the tone that any author wishes to convey.

False. It's not even an important point.

Then why did he mention it? And why was it the first point?

Read the article. Not my job to premasticate it for you. Often an author will open with a small observation to prepare the way for his larger point.

I'm starting to believe that, like @Bowerbird, he's not really an engineer like he claims to be. Probably some kind of control programmer, but not an engineer that's ever dealt with physics, etc. like any other engineer.

    But we'll see.

All the engineers that I have been associated with (I am a retired engineer) are interested in the truth above all other things. Successful products cannot be developed without this essential mind set. Those however who believe is a faith based narrative are not interested in the truth. The world is littered with those and the politicians who are eager to exploit any manufactured crisis to their benefit.

If you were ever an Engineer, you have now lost your capability to think rationally. Most scientists ( including Engineers) accept the views of their counterparts in the Climate Science field. Recent study—-

    https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2024/08/240805133849.htm

    Summary:
Scientists from across academic disciplines are extremely concerned about climate change. Many of them have already changed their own lifestyles or engaged in advocacy and protest, with even more being willing to do so in future. This is evident from a large-scale survey of scientists from all over the world.

    "About the survey

In their study, the researchers sampled the scientific community by sending targeted emails to more than 250,000 academics. The more than 9,000 scientists who ultimately responded to the survey came from 115 countries, all academics disciplines, and all career stages. The researchers acknowledge the possibility that scientists who were already involved in climate change may have been more likely to participate in the survey, which could affect the extent to which the reported percentages are representative of the scientific community as a whole."

Yep. Sounds about par for the course. 9000 responses to a quarter million emails. And admittedly the results are heavily curved toward people who are already climate nutters.

Sounds pretty reliable. If I were a moron that is.

I think the survey is probably pretty accurate. You can’t force people to respond. That said, there were probably some who wanted to participate to voice their opposing opinion

We would not need a survey to tell us what you think. You do a fine job of that.

I think critically and rationally every day. This has allowed me to come to the conclusion that the enhanced CO2 effect hypothesis is not correct. The winter gatekeeper hypothesis has not been disproven. Regardless of cause the only rational action is to maximize economic growth resulting in an increased global standard of living and consequently maximizing the capability to handle any localized negative effects of global warming. This will also address the number one by far problem in the world today - poverty. And the key to the success of all this is inexpensive energy available 24/7. Wind and solar in present day technology fail on all counts. They are at best a niche off grid alternative.

    Think for yourself.
