Watch this 3 1/2 minute video of Congressman Trey Gowdy questioning the press about Benghazi.

He points out that many of the most basic questions remain unanswered, and that the press hasn't even been asking the questions.

It seems to me that this silence and inattention by the press is intentional and is a scandal in itself. Benghazi remains one of the most damaging exposures of the destructive content of Obama's foreign policy. A compliant left-leaning press has been happy to tell the public "move along, nothing to see here." Yet, as Gowdy explains, even the most basic and obvious questions about Benghazi have yet to be answered.

If you think, as I do, that the Obama Administration must be held accountable, please comment. If you disagree, explain why.

If one was to ask most folks would probably say that Benghazi is a muscle ointment.

It's amazing after all this time Trey Gowdy asks why Stevens was in Benghazi like it was some sort of worldly secret. Stevens went to Benghazi on his own. Stevens also threw himself out there in the population risking his own security as some have the tendency to do. What bothers me, is the fact that Gowdy is still trying to make things like that a mystery, when no one may never know other than Stevens himself. Ambassador Kennedy points out that what Stevens did by going to Benghazi alone wasn't particularly out of the ordinary;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9iO8ZCq3R8 And what bothers me, is that Gowdy asks these questions to keep a fabricated scandal going for political hay at the expense of four men who were killed. It's truly disgusting these games they play.

    Yo Colonel K
Watch for a resurrected Dead Horse if Hillary receives the Democratic Party Presidential nomination in '16. It lives. It lives.

Similar to Obama, Hillary is not a leader. Her opportunities at Executive positions have been failures.
Remember HillaryCare. Designed at a big round table of health care insurers and no health care professionals.
What did we get? Managed Care. Health Care Networks. And no cost savings for us, but more profits for them; the insurance industry, not the health care providers!

Of course from her point of view and that of her prime supporters, it was probably a big success. More profits.

Her failure to respond to the Benghazi attack in a timely manner with the intelligence she had demonstrates again,
Hillary Clinton, like Barack Obama, has poor leadership aptitudes.
Remember, Barry didn't get his laws passed when he had both houses of Congress and momentum at the beginning of his administration. What can you call it but, "failure". Oh they call it racism :blankstare:

We were deliberately lied to, for purely political reasons. The left doesn't care cuz it was their side that lied. They won't admit it, or even appoint an independent investigator. Just like with Fast and Furious, the IRS, NSA, and on and on. People died and laws were broken, but hey let's move on. It's a dead horse, except maybe to the families of the dead.

Interesting. You referencing an idiot like Senator Grayson. I guess you Liberal M/S media sources missed the fact that the Ambassador's top aide Greg Hicks testified before the Accountability Review Board (ARB), and the before Congress that the Ambassador had been ordered to Benghazi by then Sec of State Hilary Clinton. A fact that the ARB saw fit to omit from their final report. You might remember that the ARB was chaired by two Clinton supporters, and that the board did not question H. Clinton about her role in the event. (Sounding like Robin Williams impersonating Mr. Rodgers) Can you say "whitewash"? Nice try.

The US Embassy is in Tripoli, not Benghazi. As Gowdy mentions, the US was the only country to keep a consulate there. Why? Sure, the Ambassador might visit a consulate, but why do that when he was aware of a major security vulnerability that might threaten his own life?

The rest of what you say is just Democrat talking points - nothing here, a "fabricated scandal" - intended to deflect attention and make it seem that the issue isn't Obama's lies but how "disgusting" are demands for public accountability. The single greatest mystery is the lie about the unseen unknown YouTube video that supposedly sparked the attack. As late as 10 days after the attack, Barack Obama (lamentably the President of the United States of America) made a speech to the General Assembly of the United Nations blaming that video alone for the attack. This despite intelligence reports that within hours of the attack the Administration knew it was terrorists, and testimony by the people of Benghazi that they had never seen or heard of the video until Obama started talking about it. I think the word "fabrication" can be used here, but not about those pursuing the truth. There was a coordinated effort by Obama's entire foreign policy apparatus to spread the lie about the video. Why? What was it about the truth that they wanted to conceal?

My speculation is that the lie was because the election was not far off, and Obama was actually selling the idea to the uninformed masses that the war with radical Islam was over and that he had won it. I know this sounds incredible, but Obama wanted ignorant voters to believe that by killing Bin Laden his Administration had crushed Islamic violence for good. Admitting that Al-Qaeda and related groups were still active and that they were still attacking Americans would have punctured Obama's electoral balloon, inflated as it was with foul air. That's why they lied.

P.S. The sap who made the video is still in prison. He's a political prisoner, despite laws he may have broken, because he wouldn't be there if it weren't for the Administration's continuing need to cover up its lie. Who knew the US kept political prisoners?

there was no lie. The only Benghazi lies have been the crap the republicans have been throwing against the wall hoping some of it would stick.

It's really sad that you and many like you believe that. No real point in arguing it, is there? Obama and his underlings will never admit any wrongdoing, and for you that means they are totally innocent. Just like with the Fast and Furious debacle, the IRS scandal, and the NSA, to name a few.

The Democrats will be held accountable for their inability to police Government while in charge, by NOT being in charge anymore.

I stopped reading here. This is why so many of us our angered by this. Stevens wasn't there on his own. He was there fulfilling some purpose for the United States, and putting himself at risk for that purpose. Then he and others die for that purpose, and instead of finding out more details about what that purpose was, we instead are creating a narrative that Stevens was acting on his own behalf. This attitude robs those killed of the honor they should receive for their choice in placing themselves in harm's way for this country.

Just like those people at Ft. Hood made a choice to put on a uniform, and expose themselves to the risks associated with that. One of those risks is a war that Islamic terrorists are waging on us, and how putting on that uniform makes you a much more visible target to these groups than the average population. So once again, the concept is the same as Benghazi. When one assumes the risk, and then pays the price for their decision, then we have to acknowledge that. It's the honorable thing to do. Calling it workplace violence is not the honorable thing to do to respect their choice to put themselves at risk.

And this is why so many of us like me are angered. Because people like you have no reading comprehension skills. Go back and read again what I typed. "Stevens wasn't there on his own". No where in any of my sentences did I say that. I said " Stevens "WENT" there on his own. There's a big difference.

The only real reason for not arguing about it for the right, is they have established no evidence of wrong doing by this Administration. In the end, that is what matters. If the evidence were there, we wouldn't be discussing your nonsense now. We only discuss wishful evidence that has never been there.

    Specifically...what are these lies?

The right wing spin machine within its echo chamber has never made a claim about Benghazi that has not been debunked ad nauseam. Personally I am sick and tired of the two party system and believe that we are in desperate need of Campaign Finance Reform, but the right wing has become a complete and utter joke with these dumbed down conspiracy talking points that they throw out to their ignorant base.

No there is no point in arguing because the rights arguments are for the most part unsubstantiated accusations. While the ACA is not perfect, its way way better than the disaster of healthcare that preceded it. But I suppose the right had no problem with the most expensive healthcare in the world, delivering mediocre overall results.

As for the fast and furious scandal, it was a stupid and ill-concieved program. But is was a program devised by the DEA not by the administration. The IRS scandal isn't even remotely a scandal but is a great example of Issa's pathetically incompetent witchhunting expertise. As for the NSA scandal, that also wasn't at the direction of the administration. YOu might recall its been going on for more than a couple of decades.

As a mature adult, have you not found that partisanship clouds perspective? Or is it that only your political perspective represents truth, justice and the american way?

What accusations? We are asking for Obama to tell us what happened. Is there a reason you and Obama do not want that to occur?

Its not a conspiracy. (FACT) Four Americans died. (FACT) Obama refuses to tell the nation what happened and why. Youre right conspiracy theories wont help the bereaved, closure will. That's why Obama should explain to the bereaved why he let four people die while he watched letterman and went to sleep.
His silence tells us all we need to know. You can support a piece of (*)(*)(*)(*) if you prefer, I prefer to find out what happened. Just so you know, no one is going to let it go. YOu lefties can (*)(*)(*)(*) and moan all you want but we will eventually find out. IS there any reason you object to Obama simply telling us? If he did nothing wrong what exactly is the issue? Does he not have time to get himself on TV oh wait, he has plenty of time hes on it every day and hits all the lefty late night talk shows as often as he can. Seems to me has 5 minutes to spare to tell us what he did that night.
