Canada Post employees also get pretty good wages and benefits, the result of having one of the largest and most aggressive unions in the country. Canada Post's CEO makes $661K so also has a pretty good deal.

You simply match your revenue to costs, something which USPS hasn't done.

They also have a very white and asian populace to draw from.

Canada's are in love with comparisons to the USA and they NEVER include that disparity.

Let's cede you Detroit and see how that works out for ya.

Easy, view the USPS employee breakdown by race:
    http://www.eeoc.gov/federal/reports/fsp2009/usps.cfm

You can also visit you local post office and just use your common sense.

Interesting to note the number of discrimination complaints at the USPS.

You pretty much debunked you own thread.

Whites make up 60% and blacks make up 21%, so how in the hell does the USPS employ more blacks than whites.

Or it could be Canada Post charges 1/3 more to deliver a letter and has 1/6th less route delivery costs.

We get it, sammy. Let's keep blaming everything under the sun on the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s and the ***** and hope that you can stampede the useful idiots into turning to stormfront for their salvation.

So does USPS - there's a lot more hoops to get through at USPS than McDonald's if you want a job.

Use some common sense on this thread.

Such positions would require no specific skill, no college
and possibly no high school degree.

I don't know if I totally agree with this statement, but we should look into their compensations structure.

I'm just proud and happy that you have found a way to express yourself without right wing hate speech. I am definitely interested in hearing more of your thoughts about the USPS cost structure and possible solutions.

So does ever high paying position require a college degree, btw how many people are being hired by the post office today without a HS diploma.

And therefore lower the standard of living of more than half a million Americans.

Or you could simply charge what it costs. According to what I could find the USPS delivers about 213 billion pieces of mail a year and had a deficit in 2010 of 3.8 billion dollars. Doing some simple math reveals all they'd have to do to break even is charge 1.7 cents more per mailing to break even.

What I LOVE about a thread denigrating the qualifications of others is the inconsistent capitalization and the misspelled word in the title. The irony is too much.

Considering what a bargain US mail is compared to the rest of the Western industrialized nations, this (1.7 cent hike) is what should be done. Or jack up rates for bulk advertiser mailers. No one reads their crap anyway.

That's demonstrably false if they are hiring blacks at twice (might be 3x) their population percentage.

They are hiring on skin color and you can only do that if you're willing to ignore profit. That's either way. You wish to hire more whites than merit suggests it'll cost you just as the opposite. Bigotry is expensive.

Since they can't make a profit there is no choice. The US taxpayer's living standard has eroded to help prop this agency up.

If affirmative action were profitable, the USPS would not have financial problems.

If that were true, then maybe you should apply for as job there.
The people running the agency haven't concluded this.

By the way, I suspect raising rates would put alot of small businesses in jeopardy.
But then the current gov't could care less.

So it is the 21% of black folks that are causing the problem at the Post Office not the 60% of whites that are employed there.

Could be both for all we know, but whatever is happening, it ain't profitable.
    It ain't even sustainable.
It appears all races there are somewhat unhappy, based on the complaints filed.

I guess it couldn't have anything to do with folks paying their bills online which means they no longer send those letters through the mail.

Couldn't have anything to do with folks using UPS, FedEx, etc.

McDonald's and other companies with diversity programs (look up Fortune 500's list of 50 Best Companies for Minorities) do very well. McDonald's 53% minority makeup is very close to USPS which is about 59%.

My own company, which is on the F500 list is about the same as McDonald's and we've had profitable growth for more than 50 years.
