Deploy them to do what ? What are we deploying them to do - or potentially deploying them to do ? You don't deploy people in Poland for some mission in Africa or the Middle east.

The point of deploying Troops in Poland is due to Russia.

So back to the original point - what are soldiers in Poland going to do against Russia ? - whats the mission ?

In all, there were only three NATO countries ,not counting the US, that deployed in support of the Afghanistan invasion. Germany was one of them. They deployed a taken force of 5300 troops. I know, the whole of the German Army is only 62,000. So the 5200 represents a whopping 9% of the Army. But the size of the German Army is the point here. They are the ones that need our support, but they can not muster a larger army the 62,000. Especially since we have 52,000 US troops deployed there. It is time that Germany put on it's big boy pants, and step up their own defenses.

This is so incredibly not true!!! Look at this list of countries that helped with the Operation Enduring Freedom and you'll see numerous NATO countries there, including several with troop deployments (others still with other kind of help such as ports, airports, craft, ships) as detailed in each country's entries; some with small numbers like 35 soldiers, all the way to Canada's 2,000, Albania's 2,300, Hungary's 3,000, France's 4,000, Italy's 4,200, and the UK's 4,500, which you are apparently not counting in addition to Germany. Numerous other NATO countries deployed 35, 50, 150, 170, 900, etc. Just with these 7 that sent 2,000 or more, we're already into the 25,000s, more if I add them all (no time to do that now).

Hmm... do you care to say "oops, I stand corrected"?

It may be more in America’s interest to create a NPTO. North Pacific Treaty Organization. To discourage China from territorial ambitions. Europe is protected by nuclear weapons so the Russians are unlikely to expand too far into Europe so maybe another option is for this part of Asia to be given nukes as well. China will howl but I don’t care.

You should look up some real numbers, Size Bundeswehr, or US troops in Germany.
    It might help

No he's not! Putin has just gotten fed up with the West and its political games and aggression, and wants the 20 million Russian inhabitants living on the lands that were stolen from Imperial Russia when the USSR collapsed, to become part of Mother Russia again - or at least I think it's what he wants. Maybe not!

Someone posted a quote once that said something to the affect: 'Don't assume that what you take from Russia during a period of weakness, that she won't expect recompense during a time of strength.'

Well that time of strength has now arrived. Rather than laying back during the latest Nato games on Russia's eastern front, Putin reacted with a force of 150 thousand men.

I'm dancing now so full of glee,
to tell you that our dear country
is not for sale, nor will it fail
and if you think it's just a tale,

then let me say that we are proud,
    and burned too much in history;
from others that were just like thee.

But being burned's a lesson learned
and trust is something one must earn
    and you haven't.
So give it up! - Jeannette

Then what was the logic of invading Crimea if it was something other than annexing land to "mother Russia."

Doesn't sound like Putin to me, sounds like most of the world. What country wouldn't want us to leave them alone?

The mission is to enrich the investors in our military industrial complex. This is why we keep arousing the Poles. They're so paranoid. I hope someday wisdom prevails there, because we are heading towards a world war.

They probably have dreams of taking Kaliningrad, which might have been given to them or Germany, if Washington didn't decide to make Russia an enemy to please Brower and a few other Russian tax evaders.

Poland's latest brainstorm, is to accuse Russia - once again, of placing a bomb in the plane with the Polish president over a decade ago. Did it ever dawn on them, that Russia was trying to better relations, so there was no reason for them to knock the plane down. Nato and the US would be different story. The last thing they would have wanted was to have Russia and Poland renew their relationship.

Poland will have a stick up backside for some time to come no doubt - but - stick or no stick - there is nothing for the US soldiers to do in Poland other than eat Polish Sausage.

    DOES THIS ANSWER YOUR QUESTION?

The Crimean people declared their independence from Nuland's illegal junta in Kiev since they weren't represented. (Isn't that why we split from Britain?) They asked the Russian troops stationed there to protect them so they could hold a referendum to become part of Russia. That way the Ukrainian troops wouldn't be able to invade and occupy them and impose its own laws the way they did in the 90's. Before the Ukrainian invasion Crimea was a free country.

NOW HOW ABOUT ANSWERING MY QUESTION:

Why would Russia want to take over any part of Europe - other than the former Russian areas where the Russian people are enslaved and living in an apartheid condition?

Anyway I'm only talking about the situation today. It doesn't mean though, that if Europe was to be occupied and subjected to Islam or to a new world globalist government against their will, that Russia won't feel obligated to free them. Of course they will, the same way we did in WWII.

fmw - The reason Russia was willing to absorb Crimea into the Federation, yet wasn't willing to do so with Donetsk and Lugansk when they asked them, was because Crimea had a defined boundary. While with Donetsk and Lugansk there was no place they could put the boundary? When Russia took polls, they found that the further west they went into Ukraine, the less the people wanted to become part of Russia.

There was also a geo strategic reason for uniting with Crimea. The US had plans made up to kick out the Russians from their 300 year old naval base at Sevastopol, and turn it into a Nato base - which would have threatened Russia's very existence.

Your Bunker Boy pulled out of the trade treaty, told them to screw themself. They never the less ratified the treaty, without all the US special provisions.
The treaty was aimed at China.
They told the US, screw you, if you want to rejoin it will be our conditions.

How do you think your NPTO, will come together ?

From what I noticed, China is only concerned with trade world wide and doesn't have any territorial ambitions - other than to hold on to its own territory. Their ambitions are purely economic. It's how they want to prove themselves for the latent racism they suffered over the centuries.

As for the S. China Seas, their very survival is dependent on a free passageway for their ships, and that is being threatened by our fleet. Of course this doesn't excuse everything they do. But then again, look at us and what we do.

An excuse for an invasion and annexation.

No reason. Restoring the Soviet Union means annexing former Russian areas like Crimea.

    As expected...

Poland Agrees To Pay Almost All Costs of US Troop Presence

WASHINGTON: The Polish government will pay the majority of costs associated with stationing 5,500 US troops at bases within its borders as part of a new security cooperation pact, the Pentagon has confirmed to Breaking Defense.

The deal comes as the Trump administration keeps prodding longtime allies like South Korea and Japan to pay more of the costs of tens of thousands of US troops within their borders, while President Trump has complained that countries like Germany don’t meet defense spending goals outlined by NATO.

But Poland, which already meets the NATO-mandated goal of spending 2 percent of GDP on national defense by 2024, has agreed to take more US forces, aircraft and drones while footing what is likely to be a hefty bill to build infrastructure for those forces as they flow in and out of the country on a rotational basis.
