Was Covid-19 a bioweapon?

Yep, as I said I wasn't aware it had been detected in bats but the class (or family) of viruses COVID belongs to is apparently pretty widespread in the animal kingdom. So I don't know if other related viruses could be present in them.

The numbers above I find more troubling. If it really did come from a "wet market". Higher death tolls are to be expected at ground zero. If the Chinese were grossly under reporting Covid deaths and infections....why? If the Worldmeter figures are even close to accurate, it makes it look like they were prepared with a ready made vaccine. I don't know why they would under as opposed to over reporting. Hopefully the rest of the world is cheesed off enough to stop buying products that come from China and move our manufacturing to a country that won't try to kill us all. India and a number of African countries come to mind. Freezing them out of the world market would be appropriate.

 

Don't tell me, tell the scientists who did the research. The details of their work on bat immune systems & viruses etc is reported in journals. Ridiculous I know.

 

Yes it is a bio weapon.. it and the vaccine were developed at the same time and in conjunction with Obamacare to rid the world of a high percentage of old people and sick people (those with co-morbidities), because that is the only way socialized medicine will work.

Why are you using Chinese government talking points? If an English speaking spokesperson from the Chinese communist party was posting on this board they would be saying exactly what you are saying. Why are you so quick to defend these people?

Because they're being attacked for no good reason. There isn't any more reason to say this disease came from China than there is to say that the "Spanish" flu came from Spain. The fact is that the Spanish flu came from anywhere else BUT Spain but the WWI propaganda machines ignored it while WWI was on and then seized upon the fact that Spain was the LAST nation to get it, but while the world was paying attention.

If any people have suffered from this disease it was the Chinese but American conservatives are more interested in using it to back their xenophobia than they are to find out where it REALLY came from, and how it might be prevented in the future.

If it came from wet market toe cheese, it would be good to know if the culture promotes toe cheese..., so the locals learn some hygiene, kind of like truckers dry humping prostitutes thinking they can't catch HIV, is kind of a phenomenon on one continent, so if you want to stop it you need public service announcement in Sweden, right?

 

If stuff mutates then you should carefully watch the mutations, not cut your scientific observers off from the largest pool of mutating humanity that has ever existed. Even before he became President, in late 2016, President-Elect Trump observed a drill conducted by the newly-formed Office of Pandemic Awareness to show how hospitals were ready (and sometimes not so prepared) to deal with a pandemic just about all the scientists said we had narrowly escaped with Ebola and which was sure to come in the near future.

Fortunately for us all, Trump is (partially) gone. His baleful influence, however, seems to remain in the way we criticise the hygiene of exotic meat markets which have existed for millenia instead of sending our scientists to China and other nations to help them identify and counteract the next COVID before it spreads. Helping other nations to fight epidemics is not at all altruistic but the most naked self-interest there is . Deadly viruses, much like the heroic Doctors who fight them, are truly entities that exist Without Borders.

 

Our typical "farmer's market" (wet market) doesn't have exotic live meat in close proximity to everything else.

My grandparents made their own sausage from scratch, kind of grossed me out to see the pig hanging there, but the local farmer's market did not have live meat. Funny thing was an uncle complained about the black stuff bubbling in his yard, accused my septic tank, with dye test inspection found out the other uncle who inherited the store had a straight line running from the store to the other uncle's yard near the creek, ****, pig, you name it...

Hygiene is kind of important, it's like a mask, no going to the bathhouses after being told you have GAIDS and there are only about 3000 in San Fransisco and New York who have it.

Complaining about hygiene is older than King David's monument on a threshing floor that stopped a plague that killed 30,000 people due to a possible fungus (see Ethiopian fungus on threshing floor), but the message is corrupted by politics blaming an evil census and God, the census (so and so dies in another city but lives and eats at bad Publix) could have aided in identifying what threshing floor for David to buy and shut down.

So yes, I will criticize any market whose practices predate the Black Death...

 

I'm confident it was not purposefully released and instead was an accidental leak like the way SARS had accidentally leaked out of Chinese labs and killed people 2x already this millennia.

 

What I see is a question of the probability- and most people who think for themselves have probably asked if that might be true.

Personally, I think it was released by accident- but that it should have never been created in the first place. The trail of responsibility for that creation leads back to our own scientists, including Fauci. The responsibility for it's escape into the environment falls on the same people- and they deny everything except the power to force the people to comply with their orders, and the suggestion that they are responsible for it in the first place. If this occurred through any private enterprise, it would be a negligence/tort lawyers dream come true, the multi-trillion dollar judgement.

 

And I'm confident that it was not even that. Christ, new diseases crop up all the time due to how fast viruses and other microbes tend to mutate and evolve. This is no more a bioweapon than any other coronavirus that has found its way to infecting human beings. It's a new, still more dangerous version of the common cold, essentially.
