In Abrahamic religions, false god is used as a derogatory term to refer to a deity or object of worship besides the Abrahamic god that is regarded as either illegitimate or non-functioning in its professed authority or capability, and this characterization is further used as a definition of "idol".

Some people worship money, money is the god!

In that context atheists can believe in the Holy Ghost and Satan, and evil spirits and the supernatural at large as the bird pointed out, and defended, seriously laughable silly ****!
    FALSE AGAIN!
    They are mutually exclusive.
as always he posts no evidence for those nutty claims.

Such thoughtless posts from the self aggrandized "logic teacher" that defends answering propositions with nonsequiturs has me in ****ing stitches laughing!

Of course it matters .. as explained to you Atheists are more likely to act on their belief - being one point.that clearly went deer in headlights .. as you failed to address ..

also .. agnostics do not necessarily disbelieve in God - a second deer in headlightes moment as this is what distinguishes them from atheists. in one case you have "I don't believe" in the other you have "I don't know" but, this solves the riddle of why you did not understand how this makes a difference in context .. you did not understand what the word agnostic means.

Again, see the topic. It is about people who don't believe in God . . . which includes both atheists and agnostics.

Not really, buddy. Doesn't change what I said. See below.

If you don't know, then you have two options: believe without justification (the very term "agnostic" was invented to attack that approach, by the way) or refrain from committing to any belief. Agnostics tend to do the later . . . and that's the historical source of the term as well. Which still means they don't believe in God.

I've already demonstrated how the context shows your distinction is meaningless for our discussion.

still having difficulty with negatives I see
    mischaracterization of agnostic.
agnostics hold no belief either way.

someone who claims they dont believe in God is an atheist.
    agnostics are not atheists.

No Agnostics do not necessarily disbelieve in God your simply wrong .. .. and the context it is not just about belief or disbelief in God but acting on that belief or disbelief .. wrong x 2.. . Clued out of the park it seems. no idea what is being argued .. no idea what the terms being used mean.

So you are either claiming that said agnostics actually DO believe in God, or you have failed to grasp the concept. Which is it? I can provide further education either way.

No slaves absolutely WERE property according to the South and other parts of North America, for that matter.

    Nope.

The legal system doesn't go after you if you are only "offensive".

You are still WAY in the weeds on free speech limits.

no citation, another one of your groundless opinions.
unless that was supposed to mean slaves were property, because they were property, the feds had no legitimate authority to terrorize and invade the south before the amendment was ratified as we seen in kentucky and massechusetts where slavery was a-ok until the amendment passed!

the legal "system" has no 'legitimate' constitutional authority to go after you under any condition of speech.

There are no "CONSTITUTIONAL LIMITS" on free speech

Its called false god specifically because its NOT god.

Some people can call a chunk of wood god, but its still only a chunk of wood.

the only way the legal system go after you for speech is if it's a direct incitement to violence. No tweet ever is.
I'm glad incorrect people think this I wouldn't want it any other way. So thank you. I don't want to live in your fascist dump where people are afraid to speak.

What do you mean by "acting on a disbelief" in a god especially in your context of "as explained to you Atheists are more likely to act on their belief "?

And the South was worried that would change. Which is why they left.

One who did not see the Constitutional prohibition for leaving. One who did not want to sent hundreds of thousands to their deaths and the destruction of untold property. In the context of the time...........slavery was legal in the United states for almost 100 years, before the war, during the war and even after the war. There is a thread going on right now about the west coast states seceding do you think Biden would send in the federal military for the purpose of the total destruction of those states in order to bring them back into the United States?

The South was more worried about slavery in the new territories and whether those territories could decide for themselves, the violations of the escaped slave act and the not so few in the North who were advocating a slave rebellion in the South and then of course the unfair trade acts against them. Lincoln ran on the premise who would not end slavery. It wasn't until he needed to rally the home front which was losing interest and purpose in the war, more and more talk of just let the Confederacy live peacefully like it wanted to that he made slavery and issue and even then did not free the slaves in the United States.

We've know what is right. Our founding documents clearly show that we understood equal rights.

    We were hypocrites.

That is not an excuse for continuing hypocrisy. It's only a statement of where we came from.
