    There's no need to leave since the government is paying part of their wages.

    So they made their choice to accept taxpayers money, even though they may have the ability to earn more, in a better environment?

    You don't think very highly of people who work at WalMart, do you?

    It was sarcasm. This may be hard to believe, but somewhere around half the population is below the mean, in terms of ability to perform jobs. Those jobs need to be done. They’ve always needed to be done. Not being able to put food on the table while working full time is a very recent development.

    Ability, or income? And if ability, I would be interested in knowing what jobs you refer to.

    As a side note, if more than half the population is unable to 'perform jobs', then our higher education system is really doing a poor job of it and should be providing refunds.

    @DaveBN

    Wasn't it you that was asking me for evidence that the losses incurred from shoplifting are passed on to us all ?

    Maybe they should stop voting for The politicians that refuse to prosecute petty theft and make it necessary to lock up common items in every store?

    I guess I have to choose my words very carefully even though you know what I mean.

    Politicians are the ones that make or in this case basically abolish laws..... Such as the laws that used to prevent people from shoplifting because they were afraid of being caught and prosecuted.

    I hope I was able to clear that up for you.

    Evidently more than nothing that happens now.

    Used to be you would get arrested and taken to jail and prosecuted and then there would be some sort of punishment instead of employees just being directed to watch you walk out and the police basically not even responding to the call.

    The mayor of Chicago... That's his excuse for why Chicago is still a raging dumpster fire.
