We clap with glee at a baby's first steps. Walking and running comes later. In point, man must recognize others worth before they can set them free. So, treat your slaves well. And if you are a slave, be a good slave or person. This way, later when set free, the freedom is mutual. If a people have devolved into being unjust and unfair, they must be trained to be fair and just.

Why would God need baby steps? And why didn't he say command them set free by the time he was done with his books? Also, you forget that God sometimes, according to the Bible, COMMMANDED that people be taken as slaves. Not just allowed. COMMANDED, you know . . . like commanding infanticide . . . which he did, according to the Bible.

Well, when you are able to think of an excuse for your God's shortcomings, let us know.

What you call Gods shortcomings, I see as your impatience, misunderstanding, ignorance, premature judgment, and unbelief. Mere men wrote the scriptures, while countless other men have fiddled with them over the course of six thousand years. So yeah, there's plenty of room for error. Why you place that on God is anybody's guess.

If he exists, and if the Bible is any indication of his inclinations, he vocally supported slavery. But even by simply not speaking out about it as soon as he could, that would make him evil.

If a doctor refused to save your spouse when he easily could, at no risk or cost to them, then would being angry with them for their failure be 1) Justified or 2) Impatience?
