The hipocrit manners of the English many times seem to me ridiculous. If you want to ask something, many times is better go direct to the topic, than doing absurd circles like English like so much.

And Russian people is not rude neither unpolite. And here I will generalize, all slavic people that I've met are really nice people, though many times I won't like what they think about something, they are really nice people, that are really sympathetic, and is relatively easy to relacionate with them.

I don't have almost any bad experience treating with Russian or Slavic people in general. And yes, they many times are direct, and sometimes look rude, but they are nice. And being directed doesn't make you unpolite.

Ah, and your post is a pure ad-hominem.

About Russia, I have to say that I would like to know much more about this country, and the most that I know of this country is its language.

Also, I have to admit that my actual knowledge about Russia is really poor, and I don't know the situation of this country. But for I understand there is a really great raise of the poverty and inequality from becoming capitalist.

You are absolutely right Max , but the two or three silly people here are just young boys who are probably brain washed and unwitting pawns of their Security Forces .
You must appreciate that they will have completed Army conscription and been brutalised physically , mentally and emotionally .With little or no possible useful future , it is no wonder that manners and good behaviour standards get forgotten -- or have never been learned .
We should never forget how lucky we are in comparison .

And right here is, most likely, the worst post of a day. The snobbery, the arrogance, the self-importance, the pretentiousness, the pomposity of your posts are matched only by your impotence with English language... shoo

I think you need to brush up on your English , Dutch .But well done for making a very good effort .
However , chatting to your betters can be very daunting and I admire your loyalty to your fellow contributors who are hardly a good advertisement for Russian youth .

That is pretty good. If you are living in Finland (thought you are from Spain) now it should not be much of a trouble to get to St-Petersburg and that would be also a good stimulus to improve your language skills. However, I would choose winter or summer for that.
Well, there definitely were great raise of the poverty after USSR collapse, for now, believing official stats, total consumption is about 130% of 1991 level. However, people tend to miss USSR more for it's social structure and high security.

What you say makes sense but you left out the part where the Russian woman emigrates, starts watching TV, and becomes an "emancipated feminist American liberal woman" in no time. The key is learning to speak English - as soon as that happens, say goodbye to whatever Russian traditions they used to have. American pop culture is like cocaine to them.

My visit was back in 2001. My statement about excessive drinking can be modified by saying that I didn't see any evidence of mature adult alcoholics, it was the younger generation doing the drinking at the time I was there.

You are correct to point out the false churches from the USA, and you mentioned two of the largest and worst, Mormons and Jehova's Witnesses. I'm sorry that these brainwashed idiots are bothering Russians in Russia. You would be much better off in the Russian Orthodox Church. I have no problem with icon pictures as long as they don't lead people to pray to Mary. As far as Russians who've never heard of Jesus, that was my observation at the time. I have no expertise on the Russian Orthodox Church.

Russia is a work in progress, has been since Peter the Great. The good news? Their art, education and passion are second to none. They have the best capitalists and the best socialists. The best poets the world has ever seen (Ireland might make a play here). They also know how to suffer and survive, often enough they are their own worst enemy. You can point out their current issues and whine, but they look an awful lot like the United States at the turn of the 20th century---you remember, when we became the most powerful nation on earth?

And? What is his reason? That is nonsense.

Ok. He hates them, but ask him why? And I have Polish friends that don't hate Russian people, don't have any problem with them, as it's normal.

There are different extreme opinions concerning to Russia in Poland. From love to hatred. We have the long history to be neighbours. Poland had its own empire and during the centuries there was a fight for leadership in the slavic world between Russia and Poland. If you will study Russian history of XV - XVI centuries you will see many wars between Rzeczpospolita and Moscow Russia, almost every 10-20 years. Poland has lost this fight at last. I think this is the main reason of their hatred. Though Poles which live here in Russia are absolutely normal people and do not differ from Russians.

Every time when you are asked some concrete questions, you disappear from a talk. You just fear to talk using figures and facts MaxRiga. All you can is to assent to anyone. Excuse me for the rough post, but this is the truth. And it is sad.

Mostly hatred now as more and more people learn that Russia massacred the Polish elite at Smolensk on April 10th , 2010 when they brought down a military flight carrying the cream of the country and shot all survivors .
A good day at the office for bosom buddies Donald Tusk and Vladimir Putin .

Actually each time it represents many new readers world wide if you look at the figures -- the vast bulk who never post .
Each time at least one person then follows up something that is new to them or unclear .
Slowly but surely , people have realised that there is more muck surrounding the Smolensk 2010 Massacre than even Putin and the FSB's 1999 bombings of their own cities--- as a means to unite Russians against Chechens ( shades of Hitler using the Jews in the same type of way) and commence the second Chechen War of the nineties .
It also serves as an excellent way of holding other posters up to the mirror to show how immature they are .
Thanks for all your help . Your FSB bosses have never really understood the value of silence .

While I'm willing to believe that Putin assassinated the Polish President and his entourage, I do not believe that Putin set up the 1999 bombings. Chechen separatist terrorism is very real.
