I knew a Fundie several years ago. She would literally say "How are you, you sinner?" She never married or had kids but was an "expert" that could connect anything and everything to "our fall from grace".

In my experience, Christians are some of the most hateful, judgmental and self-righteous people I've ever met. I'm so glad I walked away from all that nonsense. Who wants to be told they are worthless and an imaginary Sky Daddy is keeping track so they can pay for it all in an eternal fire? I could go visit my family if I wanted to feel like cr*p. ;-)

This is an impossible argument, one cannot have Faith without Works and vice versa. What did Jesus say about whited sepulchers?

And this is all bs, there are no sky fairies. Stories, no matter how charming are just metaphors. Learn to live in reality, which is even more uplifting once you accept it.

I was once told that there is no heaven or hell. We all go to the same place. You determine which one it is

The one thing that baffles me is that I've yet to find one that has any sex. In all of life, the love of a good woman or man and its physical manifestation is by far the most pleasurable and sublime thing we can do, yet somehow we are expected to do without it for all eternity. If that is so, I'm not going.

Nobody living knows what the heck happens after death. It's outrageous to me that anybody would think they have it "right" and everybody else has it "wrong".

We won't be humans in the so called Abraham god heaven. We will just be our souls/spirits, supposedly.

I'm a "fundie". I go to " fundie" churches. Have "fundie" friends and family. And have atheist family as well.....and the lady you refer to in your post would seem strange hateful and weird to me and the people I know. Definitely not the norm.

Is there something in my post you quoted that you translated as me saying all Fundies were like that? If so, please point it out.

Can that word "normal" literally be applied to any single faction of humans??
...without inferring there are others being considered abnormal??
Why not narrow it down some...to perhaps....religious vs non-religious.
Which of those two would be considered "normal"??
    Can they both be "normal"?
If not...who gets to decide which is abnormal?
Would an unbiased person be considered "normal"?

Perhaps the "fundie" slur led me to that. I dunno maybe you call all Bible Believing Christians "fundie"...it seemed demeaning to me and yes I took it that you meant she was typical which I can confidently say isn't the case.

I read that he was a carpenter by trade...but I don't recall that he spoke of building anything.
There was as I recall a suggestion that building on solid ground was preferable.
So how where do you find the idea of "we build by mimicking The Creator and following Jesus' teachings."

The Creator is God (The Father) in whose image we were created. Having been created in the image of The Creator, it seems to me we're likely meant to also create (build). If we create and build with the goal of loving eachother, we could, someday, perhaps in the distant future, create something very similar (or perhaps identical) to the 'heaven' described in The Bible.

I like to call this 'Christian Humanism'- that our purpose is to worship The Creator by mimicking his creativity, bettering ourselves (both individually and collectively through voluntary cooperation) morally and technologically and seeking to be more like Him, and that Jesus' teachings are the path that leads to success in this purpose.

Based on what you know about your parents' and grand-parents' lives, compared to your own (and that of any children you have), would you say there have been any large scale movements toward peaceful collaboration and understanding? As you ponder this, I encourage you to take into consideration your own religious beliefs and how they stand up within the conglomerate of dogma we see in almost every "religion/belief system" or lack thereof around the world.

Okay...but hasn't that always been the purpose of "religions"?
Simply "seeking to be more like Him, and that Jesus' teachings are the path that leads to success in this purpose"
hasn't worked so far...do you think the environment will be able
to sustain itself long enough for humans to accomplish your goal?
Or will they just continue to kill off everything on the planet...including each other.
Do you perhaps have a plan "B"

I see nearly all peoples intent on peaceful collaboration with those they see as their equals and peers. I see a cloistered and malevolent class of elite psychopaths using politics, religion, manufactured resource scarcity and other divisive methods of social control to set groups that would naturally adapt to a condition of cooperation with eachother to instead view eachother as (and eventually become) threats and enemies.

It makes perfect sense if you believe there is an all powerful being guiding you. All the damage done to the earth doesn't matter because God can just press the reset button whenever be wants.

Bit of a disturbing ideology ain't it?

Given that barrier (the elites manufacturing chaos to keep us distracted), how do you suppose or propose that our descendants would be better equipped to change the tide to working for the collective good of our society? I'm not suggesting that it's impossible. I just don't see why the same barrier wouldn't exist within any community structure...5 years or 50 years or 500 years from now as there will always be elites (and the people that put those people on a pedestal).
