I don't generally buy Pappy, it is overrated in my opinion...But it is hard to find. You might try the Houston area stores, call them and see if you can order one... I had a Loius the fourteenth cognac shipped from there.

I enjoy a Jameson neat or two and a bottle of Bud very cold. The Jameson tens (I think that is what it is called) is smooth and goes down
extremely easy, but is too expensive.

Just opened my first bottle of Parker Heritage 13 year, it is smooth but does have a bite. But at 135 proof, I guess it should. Also TX blended whiskey is good, but the TX bourbon is excellent. I finally broke down and bought a bottle of Yamazaki Japanese Whiskey, man that stuff is good and definitely is Scotch. I had always been told that it was scotch but you have to try it before you buy into it.

Bwahahaha! I think Canadian Superior is even cheaper!

I have had over 100 different Single Malt Scotches and prefer them over the American Whiskeys.

The base for the majority of American whiskeys comes from one commercial distillery.

Well it ain’t scotch cause it wasn’t distilled in Scotland. Besides scotch is whisky.

Ive always wantef to try a bottle of the $100 scotch, what is it like 12 year single malt. The most I could ever bring myself to spend was $40 in a bottle of Crown Royal. It's pretty good though.

Some years ago some of us pitched in for a 25 year Glenmorangie. $210 at that time, twice that now. Pretty good but for that $100 you could probably get an 18 yr Glenmorangie and it is just about as good. Smooth and not peaty but I like peaty (Smokey).

Had a dram if 40 yr Laphroaige in Scotland among friends for $60. Most amazing. The distillery wanted $1,000 for a bottle.

Wheatfish is the best damn whiskey in the ****ing world. Its only available at a small indy distillery in Whitefish Montana.

Other than that, I like Bushmills.

We are going to experiment distilling a peated whiskey at a local artisan distillery. To bad you can’t do it legally at home but govt wants its taxes.

Whiskey is simply grain mash fermented and distilled to clarity then aged in oak casks.

It does not taste any different from moonshine (corn alcohol) when first distilled, but then there are various aging techniques which give it that oak flavor.

I prefer clear booze like moonshine, blanco tequila, blanco mescal, white rum, or gin myself.

Girlies should drink gin and tonic or vodka and juice or rum and coke.

Like Hemingway? Gin and tonic with a few drops of bitters and a wedge of lime. Great summer drink.

Short Mountain Distillery makes moonshine that is so smooth. It's the best shine I have ever tasted. http://www.shortmountaindistillery.com/

Japanese whiskies are single malt, meaning they are Scotch, just can't be called it because not made in Scotland. Sparkling wine is champagne, just can't be called it because not made in France.

Just received a bottle of Redbreast 12 Year Cask Strength Irish as a very generous gift. Wow is it good! It is 116 proof so needs a little water, but the aroma and complexity are both amazing. If you ever want to splurge on one of the best Irish whiskies, this must be on your list.

It’s an Irish Whisky, so no peat.

I dunno, you should try connamora, if you ever get the opportunity. But point taken.
