It seems to me like he dominates every debate, but maybe it's just me. He has a good record, never criticizes the other candidates, and is an incredible communicator. I can accept that he's not leading or anything, but he is SO FAR behind, I just don't understand? It's not like people pay THAT close attention to the fact his campaign staff dismantled ...

I wouldn't say he dominates every debate, but he does have the experience in Washington and is a very good speaker. I'm a Ron Paul supporter, but I have to objectively say that Newt is doing very well.

Can someone please explain to me why Perry and Romney are continually being handed to us as the only contenders? What is it about these two that makes them the favourites? Romney I somewhat understand because he has been at this for a while, but I can't see any justification for someone like Perry getting more attention than a guy like Newt. Maybe in a Democratic party, but as a Republican? Why did the media elect this guy?

Newt, aside from having a terrible personal life that disqualifies him with social conservatives, walks a weird line between crazed extremist (mostly rhetoric) and establishment reliable (swerves with the times, can pass legislation).
The result is that he has the negatives of both... and they count for more than the positives.

The extremists find Perry and Bachmann more likable (and they also work better for social conservatives).
Establishment Republicans find a better candidate in Romney.

Gingrich shot his mouth off a couple times early to try to push himself into the race. It backfired. It's unlikely anything he does will make up for it... and really I don't see him going anywhere else.
He's probably only staying in it to sell his book.

Well, the vacation he took two weeks after he started his campaign didn't help. Newt's a smart guy, but he has the morals of an alley cat. He would be a great chief of staff.

He's too busy trailing his wife, Calista McBauble, all over the earth in search of $$$ fun and more $$$ fun. People don't like hearing that, plus he has a huge negative history hanging around his neck.

    It must be.

None of the others have been tossed out of office on ethics violations, not that "ethics" matter in a politics.

He's a powder puff. His only stand is tell people what they want to hear (his people anyway) and get rid of the n(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) in the white house. That seems to be all that is needed with some.

He's a teacher. He had better be able to communicate.

Newt sucks, that's the general opinion.

The media will choose who the candidates are.

    And who the winners are.

Unless the earth shifts considerably, the election is a done deal.

Those of you who are predicting the election is a done deal... are you voting for Mitt Perry (same person essentially, so I decided to just merge the candidates) or are you going to make up your own mind based on records and facts?

Well, one of them, I'm sure will vote for Obama, then scream like a scalded dog about voter suppression and "stealing the election" when the Republican candidate wins.

I'm not sure about the other one. Haven't read enough of his posts to get a read.

I'm not a Newt fan. He does well in the debates, but I won't support him. They should ask him about "climate change" and how he'd work with Nancy Pelosi to combat it.

Newt is the only one thats been staying out of the childish drama during the debates,he goes right for the juggular and hits Obama instead of wasting debate time with the my dad can beat up your dad crap.We havent had a debate that didnt turn into a circus and focus more on the issues and how to fix them.Cain has been great as well by staying out of the drama.Bachmann came off as desperate,Romney sounds like the RINO "career politician" he claims hes not by being too (*)(*)(*)(*) scared to admit Social Security needs fixing and staying too PC,Huntsman is a tool that needs to chill on the fake bake tan(him and Romney look a little orange)Ron Paul, although I love some of his views, needs to wake up and realize its not the 1930's anymore and that no one buys gas with silver dimes,Santorum also sounds like career politician,Perry needs to brush off the attacks and explain how he would fix SS,create jobs, and fix the economy. All the candidates are doing besides Newt is submitting to the Far-Left media exposing the cracks. This is poisonous.

cons have yet to put up a candidate that has a snowball's chance. they need the hispanic vote for any shot and with the raging anti-semetic con hate that is so popular and now on full national display, it'll be a decade before they fool America again on a Presidential level. We love to forget the important stuff, but cons are forcing the negatives, thanx idiots!
Mitt - Mormon, goose cooked before hatching.
Perry - blows himself up every time he opens his mouth. Then there's his history...
Who else ya got? Reagan might be able to be stitched back together!

More likely it is because he is an immoral degenerate and dishonest partisan hack who is best known for dumping his cancer-stricken wife to take up with his intern girlfriend and for spreading around a smarmy little memo about the the best negative adjectives to use against political opponents when trying to smear them.

The bible-thumping right-wing crowd detests him as much as liberal and progressive voters do.
Only defective people who share his disgusting personal traits would ever consider voting for him.

I'm surprised he's even running, but I did think it was funny when he called Hildabeast a bich and people started buying T shirts that said, "Yes she is!"

Are you kidding? On the campaign trail you get to live like a king on other people's money and you don't even have to claim it on your taxes. I don't think he cares whether he wins or not, and as soon as the free ride is over he can go back to Fox news and get paid for doing nothing all over again.

Put him on the list of people that should have died in their glory years. It's a well populated list including Michael Jackson, Muhammad Ali, Macaulay Culkin, etc etc. Some people just simply outlive their usefulness.

I dont know, but if he ends up not getting the nomination, I will probably just write him in anyway. The Republican party can kiss my ass.

That's like a vegan complaining about the menu and ordering a porterhouse steak, with a side of BBQ pork ribs all smothered in a bacon grease sauce??

If you say so. The way I see it you condemned the party and then said you were going to vote for, even write in if necessary, the poster child of what has been wrong with the party for the last 30 years.

But you are right it’s your call.

I have ALWAYS been loyal to my ideology first, and the party second. I can and have voted democrat in the past, several times.

The party is merely a conduit for the ideology.
