World Track and Field Bans Biological Men From Competing in Women’s Sports Categories | The New York Sun (nysun.com)

One of the world’s largest sports governing bodies has decided to ban biological males who identify as women from competing in female sports categories. It is the first major sports association to do so...

... “In these circumstances, the Council decided to prioritize fairness and the integrity of the female competition before inclusion,” it continued.

It's a nice little step in the right direction, but there's much further to go.

It was either that or do away with men's and women's sports and just have sports.

rifle shooting, some very long distance running, and perhaps indoor archery and of course equestrian events, it would be fairly well balanced. A friend of my son, who now is ranked in the top 50 of men's pro tennis could beat any woman in the world when he was 17 and by the time he was the top collegiate player, none of them could get a game off of him

I’m fine with the ban, but there are other options they would just be a bit complicated. Like fully transitioned with low testosterone for years. But enforcement would’ve been a bitch, so I get it. If people want to be trans there will be downsides.

I think liberals are divided on trans in sports, but it's mostly the fringe that thinks the moment they declare trans they can compete as that gender. Much less divided on things like trans using their bathroom of choice.

It's not "the fringe" that allowed this to happen

The ability to argue against this instantly rewarded those with the label "transphobic". Which came with societal punishment which could include the loss of employment or other the like.

This ****, like most **** pushed by the left socially...is destructive, regressive and void of objective truth.

I'm very happy that we are finally starting to see a switch against this nonsense of romanticizing and normalizing a mental disorder. We should show sympathy and compassion to those who are transgender...but to treat it like it's a normal social identity is asinine.

Im not sure long distance running would be "fairly well balanced; shooting and archery probably are close.

The left is correct about most things. The problem with trans M to F in sports is the unfair advantage of somebody whose body produces more testosterone. That's all. It's like any athlete who had been abusing steroids. One cannot let them compete and call it fair.

Showing compassion is to accommodate them as long as it respects the rights of others. And yes, to treat them normally as much as possible with that rule in mind.

Amen. That's a nice pic of the U of Penn's 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year.

It's quite a bit more than that. MEN - like Lia Thomas - have on average: 20% more muscle mass, 40% more upper body strength, 33% more lower body strength, bigger & more muscular legs, larger hearts & lungs affording superior capacity to process oxygen under exertion, and dozens more immutable physical & biological advantages that no amount of hormone therapy will ever equalize vis a vis physical competition with women. Lia Thomas is a MAN, regardless of what HE chooses to tell HIMself. HE has no business swimming against women, any more that Lebron James belongs in the WNBA.

What do you think testosterone does? Have you seen a professional female bodybuilder? They have muscle.

That wasn't really an issue the left even wanted to pursue. That's been a right-wing crusade, pretending the fringe of the left is mainstream in order to take over school curriculums to teach kids racism is over so that in the future rich white parents can give their kids all the advantages without having to deal with the disadvantages of things like affirmative action.

Which would virtually eliminate women in competitive sports.
That seems to be the real and very misogynist goal behind requiring women to compete against men.

Women haters (unconsciously) get off on treating women badly. Every time they can put down a woman or hurt her feelings, they unconsciously feel good because deep down in their hidden brain, their bad behavior is rewarded with a dose of the pleasure chemical dopamine—which makes them want to repeat the behavior again and again.”

Rightly so, we should have a 3rd category for trans people. Or even four?

Well it will certainly reduce testicular injuries in women's sports which has spiked alarmingly.

Doctors Report Startling Rise In Testicular Injuries Among Woman Athletes: 'A new study indicates a disturbing trend as testicular injuries in women's sports are increasing at an astounding rate. Researchers are baffled as these statistics have skyrocketed from literally zero reported testicular injuries among female athletes just a few years ago.'

'"This new wave of testicular injuries to female athletes has really come out of nowhere," said Dr. Ryan Kitchen of Boston College's Institute of Sports Medicine. "Years ago, there were absolutely no reported testicular injuries that occurred during women's sporting events. If only we could determine what led to this sudden rise. Such a puzzle!"'

'Institutions around the world have also noticed the disturbing trend and are pouring research dollars into discovering the cause, which is almost certainly a complicated issue with no easy or obvious answers whatsoever.'

'concerned researchers in the field of sports medicine were consulting with athletic equipment manufacturers to design protective athletic cups specifically designed to protect female testicles.'

    That can't hurt.

"Trans activist groups have come out in full force against anyone who dares to suggest women cannot have their testicles injured because women can't have testicles. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" said Sunshine Fluffsprinkle, spokesperson for Insanity Now, a trans rights group in response to the findings. "BLLRRRAAAWWRRRR FFFRRGGGTHTHTH!"

At publishing time, concerned researchers in the field of sports medicine were consulting with athletic equipment manufacturers to design protective athletic cups specifically designed to protect female testicles" Your source

Hysterectomy has always been the "go-to" sure cure for these kinds of problems.

Most liberals (that I have spoken with) actually agree that biological men should not be allowed in women’s sports. They also agree that pre-op men should not be allowed in women’s locker rooms.

What they disagree with is the outright cruelty of the right wing and don’t want to be associated with it so it leads many to not speak out against it.

Many people have said the athletic commissions would eventually land on these positions and didn’t want government to mandate it one way or another as individual sports will have individual determinations.

actually in ultra marathons, women's higher body fat percentages actually are an advantage. In archery, the big advantages men have is less wind drift and a heavier draw weight leads to a cleaner release on an olympic bow. with compounds-that doesn't exist

the cruelty of the right wing-versus the left calling those who don't want dudes swimming against girls-all sorts of insults. We had this discussion on this board a year or two ago and we had people who didn't give a damn about the sanctity of women's sports whining about trans being banned-saying the acceptance of trans is more important than say preventing a girl in CT who should have won a dozen state titles, only winning one because of mentally ill boys claiming they were girls

Their next trick, and it may well work, will be to claim that biological males who "identify" as women (i.e. falsely claim to be women) are not biological males. If they can claim that they are women, why can't they claim that they are female?

What cruel things have they said or done?

Wouldn't it be more fair for biological males to either compete against men or to compete only against other trans women? Is that a cruel question to ask?
