    Excluding military bases and control over ports and water ways, and make sure all California residents go with it, I would say have at it.

    California is a huge money maker for the US.
    If that were to happen, the US might be left looking like England after Brexit!

    Thankfully, Mexico remained neutral in WW2 when Germany was pressuring Mexico to let them use their ports.
