And if so - what would have happened then?

I do not ask whether this has really happened.

    Possible? Yes.

Was Biden sent there in the hopes it might happen? Prolly.

Are the Russians stupid enough to do that? Prolly not.

Might the MIC drone strike him anyway and claim it was Russia? Only if they think they'll get away with it.

Yes, it's possible, and the odds are a bit better than getting hit by lighting. The Russians are dropping bombs on civilian areas, but they seem to be less interested in killing the Ukrainian politicians where Biden met the leadership.

The Biden visit was a well-kept secret so the Russians didn't have the time to load up a missile response. At any rate, I don't think that Putin wants World War III ... yet.

DC alerted Moscow that he was going so that an errant missile wouldn't be an issue. This kind of reciprocal courtesy between world leaders isn't unusual.

Since they were given notification of Biden's visit I think the Russian air-force certainly has the capability to attempt to shoot down Biden's plane even though they took many precautions such as turning off the plane transponder. Apparently he did not fly on Airforce one, but flew on a smaller Boeing 757 for smaller airports.

I just do not believe Russia would target a civilian leader especially when they are not officially at war . That seems to be the belief of the administration because they called the notification for deconfliction purposes. But regardless of the expected behavior there is always risk when someone flies into airspace of a warzone.

Yes. And we should be conditioning our aid to Ukraine on ongoing peace negotiations to bring this stalemate to an end before it escalates wildly out of control.
