.. and only one gun. BUT, you can have anything you want -- commercial, custom, one-off, whatever. Any caliber, any action, NFA - you name it. What do you choose? Thinking.... AR15 SBR 10.5" barrel in 10mm, tuned for full power loads. M4 stock, full-shroud quad rail, 0x red dot. Small, light, easy to maneuver, hits hard, low recoil, fast follow-up shots, large magazine. You?
Suppressed 300 BLK running subsonic vmax ammo, same rail options, 8.5 barrel, aimpoint PRO for optics, light mount, NV swing mount.
You know, You are correct, however, my mind must have intentionally blocked it out, I just hate the term "home defense" Ugh...... because I want Arms that serve all Defensive purposes except of course, dedicated Arms, for Hunting or Target etc.
Like anything I want? Cost and idiocy of society being no object? For home defense only? I'll take the same Kriss Vector the military is starting to field, select fire, suppressed, with a proper folding rifle stock not pistol brace BS. Those things are fancy
They've steadily improved, though that would be the civvie version. IDK about the full auto military ones. I thought about just using one of the .45 ar carbines but I figured take a gun purpose built to work with the round rather than a design that can be rigged to work with one.
IF I could only have one for home defense, this weapon system appeals to me. Short, light, and suppressed; an excellent close quarters PDW.
How about: Home Defense Franklin Armory to Introduce Non-NFA 11.5-Inch AR-Pattern Firearm by S.H. BLANNELBERRYon JANUARY 11, 2018
I second this option. 300 Blackout was specifically designed for close quarters combat. And it's just plain fun to shoot!
never been a fan of the kriss. We had a semi auto and full auto for rent at the range I used to work at. Constantly had feeding issues.
How long ago was this? They've gone through some improvements (at least the semis have. Never got to handle a full auto kriss).
This was 2011-2014. I can't remember exactly when the full auto kriss we had was manufactured. They could very well have improved since then. It was fun when it worked. But rarely was able to get through more than 2 mags without jamming. My favorite full auto we had was a full auto Ruger 10/22. We had a 100 round mag for it and it looked like a solid stream of liquid brass being ejected.
So I've been looking at this. Couple of ways it could work. A) unrifled barrel shooting true cartridges not shotgun shells. If the case then color me uninterested. Supposedly someone has asked them this point blank and they've responded with no. B) it could have some sort of proprietary new technology (or old, re-purposed) that isn't technically "rifling" but would accomplish the same goal. C) they've found some way to make the barrel run all the way through the gun but still load normally making the barrel as long as the tube (adding the 5'' its missing) and the rule on overall length is done by length when extended (so they don't ban folding stocks) so its skates on technicalities both ways.
.22 LR is way too dirty a round, for my tastes in full auto....... Unless .22 LR is super clean now......
We had a class 3 specialist, and 2 gunsmiths that would clean all the full autos. So we never had to worry about it
