China was the first locus of the infection and consequently the first to get over it then it moved to Iran and Europe and now they are nearly over it. It’s present locus is the United States and given a little time they will get over it. Even people who experienced the Spanish Flu eventually got over it. And this is no Spanish Flu. For that matter people even got over the Bubonic Plague. It’s about exposure not hiding in our houses.

I won’t waste my time arguing with some stranger on a forum but I will end with this. When I speak of organ failure I’m talking about end of life issues as senescence takes its toll on all human bodies. When I speak of cancer and CVD, I’ve summed up the big three and one of these WILL kill you so worry about real threats. By the way the Japanese wore masks long before this virus. Seems to be an Asian thing In general as I saw Asian people wearing masks in Amsterdam maybe a year ago. It makes them feel safer I guess so wear a mask if it makes you feel safer. As for me I say increase the exposure so we can be done with this nonsense.

 

I told you I’m done with this. There has been talk of this virus being around for years and things cannot be locked down for that long and the reason things are opening up is that governments are not able to collect taxes and Iran has said as much. But it’s just as true elsewhere. So now governments are making mask laws. It’s a placebo.

 

I have been following this thread as I posted very early on. I don't think it's a lack of sympathy for those who died..Covid deaths, cancer deaths, car accident deaths, etc..are all very sad! However, it's a reality, a sad reality the virus isn't going anywhere and we can't deplete our economy over a virus where a majority of people survive. There are people being damaged mentally, look at the suicides, domestic violence has gone up, substance abuse, etc all those things can end up deadly too. What about sympathy for those who lost everything? What about a family that is wondering how they are going to pay the mortgage and put food on the table for their families? What about people who have had medical procedures and screenings delayed? The list could go on and on..where is sympathy for them? Why is it when someone isn't for a lockdown and worries about the economy do they NOT have sympathy? It's possible to be both!

 

The million dollar question is...why is the USA the only industrialized nation that has food banks and bread lines due to the pandemic. You are are aware of that fact...right? Think long and hard about why that is as it goes hand in hand with why we have an outrageous amount of cases.

 

Trump's blind and misguided optimism was not well placed nor did it prepare him to execute this part of the Presidency. If that's a fireable offense for us as a nation, that's okay(it'd be even more well-received if it didn't come from the crowd who'd impeach the guy for not talking to the dog catcher but I digress lol.)

However, the greater danger is Xi as we can't A: Impeach the guy and B: He represents an international danger to the entire world. The coronavirus is everywhere and that fault lies explicitly with China for failing to address the situation internally in a timely fashion and then failing its responsibility to the world.

I feel like we have to be on full alert and awareness as it regards Xi, and we should be prepared to match tit-for-tat if the Chinese were to approach in such a manner.

Many things can kill you, which is why we do things like use non-skid mats in our bathtubs to keep us from slipping; seat belts in cars to keep us from flying through windshields in crashes; helmet laws in most states to reduce head injuries; special car seats for infants and small children; reducing sodium intake to help prevent hypertension and stroke; balanced diets to help keep out hearts healthy ...

And so forth and so on ... sensible precautions based on scientific evidence. It's no different with this virus.
