is this a game changer for china now to have up its sleve, because in the past the us could knock down most missiles that would enter our air space, but this one is to fast to hit. http://freebeacon.com/china-conducts-first-test-of-new-ultra-high-speed-missile-vehicle/
this could be a actual photo of it or prototype, they want more missiles with longer range, that can be launch from a bomber closer, then there land base ones in mainland china
Interesting, accuracy is probably not so good at those speeds and ranges, but it would be hard to stop with missile defense systems and you probably don't need a lot of accuracy with some types of munitions.
Pure propaganda weapon. The US has nothing to stop missiles coming in. The only way it has to stop them is deterrent and this still exists.
Sounds about right to me. Fire missiles at us and you'll be in a world of hurt that will only be worse for you if your missiles actually do reach their targets.
Did anyone notice the first couple of sentences in the first video? America was the first country to test a missile of this nature. Did the moaners mention that little detail?
Bull(*)(*)(*)(*). America did not declare that war, but surely did finish it. A lesson to all would be aggressors, is it not? - - - Updated - - - There are so many ill-wishers to America, especially in the countries that invented suicide vest, American needs all the weapons it can invent.
Well, not sure if the software could be adjusted to hit these missiles or not, but we definitely have the ability to shoot down missiles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aegis_Ballistic_Missile_Defense_System The system can also be used to, and has been used to, shoot down satellites.
When one considers the weapons already developed and tested by the United States, that no one will even know about for years...a Chinese missile does not seem very important.
its not to fast. we can kock down satalites 10x faster then this and have mother (*)(*)(*)(*)ing lazors.
It's it having false memories or did the great one bill Clinton hand over missile technology to China? Thanks Bill!!!
It is a little peculiar to me that China has to announce their latest stuff, while we continue to develop weapons that far eclipse them in total secrecy. With the state of that development right now, any attempt by another nation to attack us would only amount to a very sad day in their history. My concern in this is that I hope our superiority carries the intent of precluding any further major conflict, as opposed to enforcing a One World/New World order on the rest of the world. This is based in the things I've seen Bush and Hussein doing.
Nobody wins in a nuclear exchange-and that would be the only kind of missile launched against America. A few nukes impacting on America and you'll be back to hunter-gatherer status. The yield of modern nuclear weapons is terrifying and makes Hiroshima and Nagasaki look like a playground fist-fight by comparison.
Considering that satellites are predictable in their orbital paths, and many are geo-stationary sitting targets, I wouldn't call that much of an achievement, frankly. Aegis couldn't prevent the majority of a mass missile launch from getting through.
Ok you are aware that ballistic missiles also fly in predictable paths? They don't flop around up there like birds. The system has already hit 16 ballistic test missiles in tests, with 19 shots. That's a SUBSTANTIAL hit ratio when you are speaking of hitting a bullet with a bullet. Apparently you didn't read my link, because your reply is pretty stupid if you did.
India's tests of these types of weapons have shown themselves to be deadly accurate...I wouldnt think indias technology is any better than chinas....
but the satellites have a known trajectory, the same applies to lasers...nothing will work unless you have the right equipment in the right location and if the speed is great enough there won't be sufficient time to react... As speed rises the closing speed becomes critical the margin for error becomes very very very very small...
16 of 19 is just over 84%. If there are 100 missiles heading for your biggest cities that means that at least 25 will get through. 25 nuclear missiles with unimaginably huge yields would devastate America. 200 missiles each typically yielding around 300,000 kilotons would kill some 100 million people, eradicate your infrastructure and render vast areas totally uninhabitable. No food, no hospitals, irradiated water supplies, no land worth farming...welcome to the new Stone Age.
Because...you do not know about them. I recommend you research the blackbird and stealth bomber...it might be insightful.
