hear Prime is the best company to work for they give alot of calls, the swift drivers drive like 20-30 hours a week and live in their trucks the rest of the time horrible company to drive OTR for.
Former military officer, resigned my commission in early '07. During and post-service, worked on a fatigue avoidance scheduling tool (FAST) for the U.S. Air Force; currently used by the DoD and a few private companies. It's based on a sleep, activity, fatigue and task effectiveness (SAFTE) model... with variables including circadian oscillators and sleep propensity. Screen capture of FAST -
Interesting stuff. I just starting volunteering with the TAP team at an air force base teaching career military advanced techniques on how to interview etc... (Ive owned an executive recruiting firm and run national divisions for almost 20 years). The stuff they have now is just plain crap - have you seen the books and stuff they get? The training they get isn't much better. So I took in some powerful interviewing kung fu and blew them away. So now I get to make a 120 mi. round trip once a month - and it's a privilege to do so.
The military as a whole, doesn't do near enough in their transition assistance programs...but it is changing, what with so many former personnel on the civilian unemployment rolls. Lately more emphasis is being placed on easing the after service transition to civilian status. Your help is much appreciated I'm sure.
really i spoke with a lease operator at Prime he said he averaged around 2,000 a week after all expenses but he drove the maximum allowed by DOT everyday and got I believe one day off. not bad for a few years of work and building some capital
IT administrative and technical support, which includes software support, web site, training, policy formulation & documentation, act as liaison with other departments, a bit of programming, inventory, budget, procurement, and financial reconciliation. That sort of scratches the surface.
LMAO! No, no, no -- I've put my tertiary studies at university on hold for the time being. I'm planning on resuming them september 2013 or 2014 -- I just want to make money to be able to buy my own place as fast as possible... I operate the stuff I've posted, and we "help" the process engineer in the sense of giving him/her advice on how to improve the installation, hence increasing profits (which go in the millions only by adjusting a couple of things). Flanders is the biggest chemical hub of the world, if we take Antwerp alone -- we come just after Dallas (or was it Houston ~ not sure, but Flanders taken as a whole is the biggest chemical hub on Earth). A lot of people are retiring and they are screaming to find able applicants. Normally you ought to have at least a professional bachelor in chemistry, but I followed a short, but intensive, re-schooling (about 8 months) and hup -- I'm earning almost as much as my father who is a civil engineer -- LMAO! --, although I'm not counting extra-legal benefits (I don't get fancy stuff -- only the usual, e.g. extra hospitalization insurance etc.), plus I have to work in shifts... ALthough I like it -- no screaming children at the supermarket for me. Depending on which sector you work in (pharma, petro, chemical industry, etc.) and in which plant -- it can take up to 10 years before you know your installation well. We are talking about unimaginable things if something goes wrong -- some tanks are able to go underground in max. 5 minutes in a bunker of re-inforced concrete -- because otherwise 5 million people need to be evacuated (depending on the wind of course). Since Belgium is the second biggest total exporter of pharmaceuticals it is quite possible y'all have taken medication I preperared!!! ~ yes, I'm a real life-saver! Truth be told, I work with batch-processed, not in continous, so the P&ID is rather misleading... so this is more like it,...
Nice! But I'm really quite aware of industrial batch process control Jap I might come down there to work some time and teach you a thing or two *jokes*
Leffe, I can't believe you are an asset of MI5 or MI6 (I've watched all episodes of Spooks recently, so... )! But seriously... Maybe you are a brewer -- some work with batch processes as well. It would make sense, considering your screenname...
Anyone with the world's oldest profession here by any chance? I am kind-of into long-term sustainability and historical market stability.
