It might not be racism. It might be that people don't realize how bad Bush screwed up the country and how hard it is for Obama to fix so they blame him for being a hypocrite. Also he's not amazing where foreign policy is concerned (though I admit Romney is an utter moron when it comes to this). There are a few reasons why people would be angry right now, if they are uninformed they'll direct it at the current government. Honestly, when I voted for him in 2008 I thought he'd have done a little better by now, but then again I also realize how tough he's had it and I do think he's a better choice than Romney by far. Just my take. I'm sick of democrats and republicans accusing each other of stupid (*)(*)(*)(*) that's not really true at all. A wise man once said "I don't want to pit Red America against Blue America. I want to be President of the United States of America." Dissent is the highest form of patriotism, but the strongest country is a united country and the US can't be it's best if people are willing to see it fail just because they don't like/agree with the president. I love the hell out of this place, I challenge every American on this site to prove they love it too.
Reply to PM: In all my years of observing politics, this is the FIRST time that I have ever seen any political faction (n this case, right wing Republicans) openly state that they wanted the president to fail. This can only mean that they wanted the entire USA to fail as well. While it may often be true that dissent is the highest form of patriotism every truly patriotic American will do his or her best to improve upon society no matter who is in the White House. When Bush started his two stupid wars at no point did I say, I hope he loses nor did I laugh at all the casualty reports. At no point did I say, let's hope the unemployment numbers go upward. At no point did I say let's have more Katrina's or let's have more 9/11's. All throughout his 8 years I was hoping, as did so many Democrats and indy's like myself, that somehow, some way, Bush's idiocies would miraculously turn out to work for the good of America. None of it worked at all. BUT AT NO POINT DID I OR ANYONE ELSE LAUGH ABOUT IT OR SAY THIS IS A GOOD THING. The Republicans all wanted Obama to fail and obstructed every good piece of legislation that would have worked for the better. For them to now blame Obama for these failings is nothing more than stupidity and treason on their part.
Only once did someone say they wanted to see Obama fail, and you use that as a rallying cry. I did not want Obama to fail, but I saw nothing good coming out of his mouth, I knew going into his presidency he was wholly unqualified to be president. I did not need to see much more than how he treated McCain in a meeting to know this guy is no president and has no gravitas. Obama walked into a mess, told us he would get the biggest and brightest minds to work than never listened to them. He hired bankers who were the problem because he needed their minds to figure out the mess. He hired some of the worst business men in America to figure out how to jump start the economy. Obama has been in over his head since day one.
Obama isn't is the easy answer to that and koch brothers are good guys who don't want mindless commies ruining no1 country ever. Now move to france you quarterwit.
It seems to me that the only way for the US to fall is for it to fiscally commit suicide. Even President Obama conceeds that the current spending is not sustainable, but he does not flinch. What SHOULD alarm you is that the Democrat party was not only unable to come close to balancing a budget under Obama, they could not even pass a budget. Then Obama steps in and offers a budget plan that is so outrageous and removed from reality that it does not garnish one vote from his own party. Anyone who votes for this man hates the Republic. Just say'in.
Fail at what? I would have liked to have seen Bush fail at being able to spark a war with Iraq. I would have also loved to have seen Obama fail to pass his stimulus and fail to attack Libya. Anyone with me?
He's failed in his approach to foreign policy. I bet he still can't understand why the mullahs didn't fall in love with him like Oprah did. And he's failed in his approach to the economy. His stimulus bill was an utter failure. That's not to say that he hasn't had successes. He had a fantastic legislative record as far as getting his bills passed. And his national security policy has been fairly good.
Its hard to pass a budget when the goal of the only other major party in the US is nothing other than to make the president fail. I never said I liked Obama, I said its unpatriotic to put a political agenda before what is best for the country.
how has he failed in foreign policy ? while we're on the subject you do accept that bush was the biggest foreign policy failure in american history right ?

It may be hard to pass a budget but it is their Constitutional duty to do so. Also, how was the GOP stopping them when the could not even stop Obamacare? Of course, I'm not advocating for the GOP. After all, the debt they are responsible for is part of the problem as well. All I'm saying is that voting for Obama is unpatriotic and will do nothing but hasten the demise of the Republic.
It is their constitutional duty to do so, you're right, but when the GOP is intentionally blocking every proposal Obama puts up with the express intent to make him fail at his presidential duties it is not entirely his fault if he does. Voting for someone isn't unpatriotic, differing opinions are tolerated in the US, that's what a democracy is. Telling someone that because they don't agree with your politics in an attempt to pressure them into voting a certain way certainly is unpatriotic though. That is against everything democracy and this country stand for. I love this country and whoever I vote for I will do it because I believe its what is best for all of us, if you don't agree with me, that's you're problem but to call someone unpatriotic for it is a disgusting, anti-American thing to do.
it is also the duty of the republicans to do whats best for the country and be bi-partisan at times, they were willing to push america into default because they refused to accept any tax rises at all on anyone, putting dogma before the country its disgraceful

Yes we want Obama to fail. If he was to succeed that would mean socialism. And he has succeeded in certain areas. Why would I want socialist policies to succeed?
You guys hate the USA. You want to change just about every aspect of it. That isn't being patriotic. You cave into the socialist thinking just like the rest of the world. Obama's mentor Jeremiah Wright says "god (*)(*)(*)(*) America". Obama sat in that church for 20+ years. He believes that thinking and so do you.
Why wouldn't you want him to fail? I guess it delves into semantics. Obama failing=good because it means his policies weren't implemented. I don't want his big government policies being implemented so him failing=good.
The GOP was blocking nothing. You can stop perpetuating that liberal lie. They did NOT need ONE republican vote. Obamacare passed without one single republican vote. The fact of the matter is that Obama's proposed budget did not receive one yes vote in Congress the past 2 years (might be longer, don't care enough to look it up). Not even one vote. Not one Democrat even voted yes.
yeah that liberal lie reported in the liberal press and a matter of record in the liberal congress too eh
