Well, if your castle is ever invaded, you might have to solve the problem and catch the thieves yourself since guns aren't allowed in your castle....

    This is just stupid ......

    Really sorry about your cousin......

When I worked at the Red Cross, many cops came in to donate blood and there were a lot of guns in the canteen....not one person, not one volunteer was nervous about it...

I understand perfectly. There are a bunch of whiny crybabies upset someone told some detectives they couldn't have their guns in their establishment.

:woot:Well the next time Dennys needs police help...the police can always go somewhere else. Then lets see who whines like little girls...that is if they are still alive to do so.

:roll:Well dude...if you have places telling the police where and where they can't carry their guns then they can't really do the job that they were hired for. If the place doesn't go for guns...fine...let them protect themselves in a time of crisis. Im sure throwing their food at the criminal would be enough. Heartburn sucks.

:woot:And that advertising is going to trigger ideas in the nutheads that want to go around shooting up places with groups of people around. They know Dennys is going to be a good target knowing no guns allowed. As far as police protection...its going to take the police a bit of time to get there in time. The shooter is either going to shoot himself at the end or make a run for it. Either way the criminal is going to win.

:cheerleader:Well if you ever get to a point where someone breaks into your home to rob or rape you then forget about calling 911 after the crime takes place. Just call your doctor...maybe he can help you out better.

:wink:Well if you ever need the aid of a police officer and happen to call 911...just ask the one anwsering to please have the police officiers to leave their guns in their car. Better yet just ask the criminal to please leave his weapon at the door before coming in.

:cool:Just be careful and not to tell the criminals that. If you do set another place at the table for dinner.

:grin:Kind of sounds like he believes the police are the criminals...and the criminals are the nice guy. Sure hope he wears body armor.

:wink:You label them as whiny crybabies. Ones that have had complete training using their weapons. Just how do you label the criminals?

I believe I am able to post without straitjacketing myself to agreement with the thesis of the first post. Or have the rules changed?

We do see it differently. I don't think Dennys has to apologise to anyone. I do think the police were getting all - as you Americans say - "butt hurt" - for nothing. This is minor though compared to the breathtaking arrogance of some cops from NJ after Katrina, when they sailed through Virginia in a convoy at high speed and got totally out of their minds when the Virginia State Police pinched them for speeding. Don't ever privilege the police over your society, individually or collectively. They are your servants, not the other way around, they deserve to be treated like any other citizen, no more, no less.

If police have a lawful authority to enter a place they can do so in the face of opposition from the landowner, regardless of whether they are armed or not. If they have no lawful authority they can always make a request for entry. Smart cops know the law and apply it wisely, cops who think they can do whatever they like will get into strife.

You could if they were off duty or were not there using lawful authority. If they were there as a result of lawful authority then they'd be able to ignore your wishes.

Up to a point. The bad news is that various authorities can gain entry to your house against your wishes. But such entry has to be in accordance with the law, that's the good news. A bit of further bad news is that the law changes......

    but you know they won't.

do you know why gas stations give cops free coffee? everytime they come in, the clerk doesn't have to worry about getting robbed while they're there. same with bars that become hang outs for off-duty cops.

how will you defend it? a moat that has sharks with freakin' lasers strapped to their heads? you'll either have to call men with guns or man up yourself and get your own gun.

seems that the gun grabbers have a dilemma.:confuse:
