Rogers takes sacks over picks. He's not Manning or Brees. So I seriously doubt 3 picks. Lynch is a bad ass, but I think you're dreaming if you believe the 2 franchises compare with everyone healthy. With Green Bay's talent in the passing game, running is purely a novelty. I would much rather have the job of shutting down Lynch, than shutting down GB's passing attack. If Seattle goes down by a couple touchdowns early, the game is over by half time. Plus, after shutting down Peterson, I don't see how shutting down Lynch would be harder for them. One trick ponies, especially those whose trick is one great running back, very rarely get to the show. You know Seattle will blitz. As does GB. A couple of big plays beating the blitz and teams get shy fast, especially when the side who beat you has the weapons for a come back when you don't.
DC Rob Ryan fired I think the Dallas Cowboys main problem has been positively identified...Jerry Jones is a dope. The Cowboys have a head coach that consistently screws up big moments & a QB that in big games chokes & you fire the DC, who had elevated the defense until injuries just took its toll? Whatever, it's not my team.
Yeah, three picks might be expecting too much. But it depends on how desperate GB gets, like if they are down by two TD's in the fourth quarter, and Rogers has been smudged in the turf 5 or 6 times. If his bell gets rung he'll make bad decisions. I don't like the word if, so the hawks are going to have to bring more blitzers than GB has blockers...all day. Whether the hawks can cover those receivers one on one will be a tough order. But I do think Seattle's defense is better than GB's, and their offense is just as good. But we will see what we will see.
All of that of course depends on Seattle beating the Falcons. Atlanta is so horrible in post season play historically that everyone and their dog is taking them losing as a given. However, this season there is something different with the Falcons. They are hungrier than any time in their history. Their end game play is unmatched this season, which dictates they are very much real. Usually you can correlate end game play of the regular season with the pressure of post season play. If Seattle just takes Atlanta as a given, it will be the Falcons vs the Packers or Niners in the championship. Seattle is used to being the underdog out to prove something. In this game, it is Atlanta who is the underdog. Despite records, everyone will favor Seattle. That is something they aren't used to.
The Pats have both tight ends healthy at the same time. Couple that with the rest of the receiving crew and running game and they will be tough to beat.
I'm picking S.F. to beat G.B. and Seattle to beat Atlanta. I want to see that as the NFC championship game, with the Sea birds going to the SB vs. the Pats.
I think it will be GB vs Atlanta. Obviously, GB winning. SF has been playing sub par since QB debacle, and Lynch missed practice due to a foot injury. I'm sure he'll play, but he's not going to be 100%.
You called the San Fran game. They rolled the Packers. After all the yards Kaepernick gained on the ground in the 1st half, I really don't know how they didn't have a spy on him. I would have after the 1st quarter. GB fans have to be pissed. And yeah, the pressure on Rodgers was also a good call. How about that Baltimore/Denver game? I think the funnest game I've watched since Boise St vs Oklahoma. I seriously hope the SB is Baltimore vs San Fran. The Ray Lewis storyline. Harbaugh bros storyline. Either team winning would be big.
You got to be the only one on the planet who wants a SF/Balt SB. C-mon man, its New England all the way against SF.
I find nothing entertaining in the football played by Houston or New England. Or Atlanta for that matter. Baltimore vs San Fran would be the funnest match up of the teams left. By a long shot.
I don't know about others, but I'll be content with watching my Patriots win, regardless of whether its entertaining or not.
I can see Ravens beating them. I think Pats roll a lot of opponents because they're better, but in the end, it never seems like they care. It is like they're just going through the motions, which typically means success. If there is an area where Baltimore will dominate, it's motivation.
While I agree that Baltimore might just beat America's Patriots this weekend, the fact remains that Baltimore is the dullest team left in the playoffs, and the Patriots are by far the most exciting team. The Pats outscored every other team this year, and they had the talent and finesse of Tom Brady to highlight that point.
Their defense is 29th against the pass and 9th against the rush. Without the 2 kickoffs, Broncos got rolled. Baltimore beat the Pats when they met early, and in the stat game, Baltimore is actually better when put against each other. R D vs P O. P D vs R O. I think Vegas is nuts. I would have Baltimore - 3, and San Fran - 14. They have NE - 9 and SF - 4.
Oh, what do you all think about the Chargers? Tom Telesco new GM, Mike McCoy new HC. The future is bright in San Diego.
They did have a spy on him on the run where he spiked the ball on the guy, Kaepernick ran right past him. - - - Updated - - - No its not.
The Colts shook Manning and went back to the playoffs without missing a beat. Pretty unreal. And McCoy got the Broncos to the playoffs with crappy Tim Tebow. I'd be much more excited as a Charger fan right now than a Bear fan with a head coach from the Canadian league.
When the HC of a 10-6 team is fired, that team deserves to be a loser next year. Jets were 6-10 and didn't fire Ryan. Now that's really stupid.
The Chargers are missing more pieces than the Colts were. Its going to take a few years to piece that team back together.
Agreed. But if A.J. had been on his game they would have been filling holes the whole time. Now they're everywhere. OL, and DL for starters. And I'm glad the people who had faith in Mathews are gone. Hopefully they can get a back deserving of a starting role. This venture will make or break Telesco and McCoy. At 40, I'm pretty sure they both want to stay in the game for another 20 years. I stand by my claim, "the future is bright in San Diego".
