This is true. And even if it had been a census proclaimed by Luke at that time it would not have required the entire family to return. The 10 year gap between Herod and Cyrenius is one that can be explained as Herods son ruled for that 10 years,

    http://www.answering-christianity.com/abdullah_smith/historical_errors_in_the_gospels-3.htm

Bold highlighting and underlining are my doing. No census ever took place it would have been out of character for the Romans.

I see where the confusion is here....we are calling Atheists by the wrong name.

It seems we should be referring to what you label an Atheist as either a Scientist (according to the above) or someone who does not follow the "Faith" you do.

Got It....you follow the Religious Bigot doctrine.

    Good Luck With That (SIC)

LOL did anyone tell you that you make strawman arguments? I never accused you of anything. I simply asked you a question. Isnt that what this thread was for? or was it for you and the OP to dictate to others? (Probably something you are more used to. Obviously since the OP doesnt answer questions...pathetic actually) Then you fly off the handle and sin by twisting my words. Note: you wont have to alter others words if your argument is sound. Secondly, you stated and I quote "Atheists corrupt scientific facts". Please define "which atheists specifically" and what facts they corrupted. How did atheist "corrupt" scientific facts? Did they bias the science somehow? Did they break into a lab somewhere and replace samples? What did they do specifically? Facts are facts so if some scientist somewhere is guilty of fraudulating data you can get them in big trouble.
    Questions:
So what did they do to corrupt the scientific facts? Names and facts please no theories or conjecture.

Do you believe in Dinosaurs as Science currently documents?

Why did God create Dinosaurs millions of years before Humans?

    How old is the earth?

All we know is that you've arbitrarily assigned the word "God" to something which may very well just be an unthinking universe governed by a random set of rules which happened to result in the world we know today.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An unthinking universe governed by a random set of rules? Where did this set of rules come from? Rules just don't happen by themselves out of thin air, rules are put in place out of design from an intelligence.

The complex intricate workings of the cosmos had to be designed by a living, thinking intelligence and that intelligence is what we believers call God, the Creator of the universe and everything that exists.

If there was no intelligent design and everything happened accidentally then there would be no set rules, everything would be chaotic and there would be no chance for life as we know it to exist, that is why I just can't believe everything in existence happened by accident, it had to have been designed by an highly intelligent powerful Creator.

I want to leave you with a few quotes by the renowned German theoretical physicist Albert Einstein, "I want to know how God created this world, I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts, the rest are details."

"That deep emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God."

The rules are there....only because we decided they needed to be.

    Thus.....science.

Observation of reality in some ways creates it (Quantum Theory),,,,we have achieved the ability to comprehend these things, and so form knowledge.

Rules do wait in thin air to be discovered....ignoring them once noted is a definition of ignorance.

Evidence for the historical Jesus should be considered first before one tries to date the birth of Jesus Christ. The "New Testament" documents were written in the first-century that contained certain creedal confessions that have been dated to the years 30-50 AD. When you consider these creedal confessions of the New Testament along with other religious documentary evidence for Jesus, the case for a historical Jesus is staggering.

In addition, there are non-Christian references to Jesus from ancient history. The scholarly consensus of this (and other) evidence is that Jesus of Nazareth lived in the first century, acquired a sizable following and was crucified sometime in the 3rd decade of the first century.

So let's now look at the clues from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.

    1. Jesus was born during the reign of Caesar Augustus (Luke 2:1). Thus, Jesus was born sometime between 27 B.C. and A.D. 14 (the period in which Augustus was in power)

    2. Jesus was born after Augustus decreed some kind of census (Luke 2:1). Ancient history indicates there was no singular, empire-wide census ordered by Augustus, but rather a series of censuses taken throughout the empire as Augustus tried to rein in corruption by instituting census counts for tax purposes. This plausibly affirms the context of Luke's account, but sheds no light on the date of Jesus' birth.

    3. Jesus was born while Quirinius was governor of Syria (Luke 2:2). Luke tells us that the specific census which led Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem was under Quirinius. History reveals that "Quirinius" was governor of Syria from 6-9 A.D. and served in a similar capacity (perhaps even as governor) from 12-2 B.C. (especially in the years 3-2 B.C.). This puts Jesus' birth sometime between 12 B.C. and 9 A.D.

    4. Jesus was born during the reign of King Herod (Matthew 2). This would be "Herod the Great," and history tells us Herod died in 4 B.C. Thus, Jesus was born before 4 B.C.

    5. The narrative of the "wise men of the East" visiting Jesus (after seeing Herod) and then Herod massacring those under 2 years of age in the Bethlehem area when the wise men didn't return to him (Matthew 2) indicates that Jesus was up to 2 years old at the time Mary and Joseph fled to Egypt. This would put Jesus' birth between 6 and 4 B.C. - perhaps as early as 7 B.C.

    6. Jesus began his active ministry when he was "about thirty years old" (Luke 3:23) and did so during the active ministry of John the Baptist (Luke 3). According to Luke, John the Baptist started preaching and baptizing in the 15th year of Tiberius' reign and when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea. This puts Jesus' entry into public life sometime after 27 or 28 A.D. Subtract "about thirty years" from that - and you're back to about the time Herod died (4 B.C.), depending on how you define "about thirty years."

There has been an extensive amount of scholarship concerning the date of Jesus' birth. The above clues point to the conclusion of Herod the Great's reign as king of Judea.

In all likelihood, Jesus of Nazareth was born sometime between 7 and 4 B.C.

Einstein also did not believe in your form of God because of the existence of Evil that men do. Was he wrong about that?

Well, yes, Jesus hasn't returned yet. But it is prophesied in Scripture that He shall return oneday. And when He does, He wil reign over the entire earth for a thousand years and clean up the mess we sinful human beings have made.

And what is this "escape clause" you've mentioned?...lol that assumption is just ludicrous!

That is why Christian scientist have made many discoveries that confirm the greatness of God.

Mohammed was expel from Mecca and after that Mohammed started to hunt, raid and harass Meccan caravans the Meccans decided to hunt him down. You are correct the spirit that appear to Mohammed was not Gabriel.

Yes, Satan knows Jesus exist that is why Satan attempted to temp Jesus Christ and Jesus reprimanded Satan reminding Satan never to tempt God.

The Pharisees were never condemn who said they were, you? St. Thomas become an absolute believer after he touch Jesus and saw him in person "My Lord and my God" after that St. Thomas was no longer afraid of the Romans or the Pharisees. And Jesus said "Blessed are those who believe and not have seen me"

He did, He allowed Himself to be crucified for our sake.

So now we are going to proof if Satan exist or not? I believe Satan exist that is why we have all the evils in this world.

Atheist are trying to duplicate it with all kinds of sorcery, magic and trickery the first such person was Simon the sorcerer. That is why for 2000 years the Bible is still around and will be around forever because it is truth.

Nope I am not mistaken and you are a liar for insisting to spread lies that Christian worship the same God as the Muslims. Answer me, do Muslims worship Jesus Christ the God of Abraham or not?

Islamic theology identifies God as described in the Qur'an as the same god of Israel who covenated with Abraham.[28] Islam and Judaism alike reject the Trinity of Trinitarian Christianity, instead teaching that God is a singular entity beside whom no one else should be worshiped. However, the identification of God both in Islam and in Christianity with the God of Abraham led to a limited amount of mutual recognition among the Abrahamic religions.[29]

Has he returned? Nope. Did he return during the life time of those who were suppose to know him? Nope. Not a single NT writer ever saw a jesus alive on earth or never saw a ghost....he never returned during their generation and your still sitting here thinking the verse refers to our generation. Which either way its a hoax.

Maybe the glacial melting is how God cause the global flooding. That is why many scientist are so interested in creationism it is to understand how God created or made things happen and the glacial melting is just one means to cause great flood.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/10/evidence-noahs-flood-ark-real-robert-ballard-archeologist-titanic_n_2273143.html
Robert Ballard, one of the world's most famous underwater explorers, has set his sights on proving the existence of one of the Bible's most well known stories.

In an interview with ABC's Christiane Amanpour the archaeologist who discovered the Titanic discussed his findings from his search in Turkey for evidence of a civilization swept away by a monstrous ancient flood.

"We went in there to look for the flood," Ballard said. "Not just a slow moving, advancing rise of sea level, but a really big flood that then stayed... The land that went under stayed under."

Many have claimed to have discovered evidence of Noah's Ark, the huge ship that Noah filled with two of each creature to repopulate the planet following God's devastating flood. But in the 1990s, geologists William Ryan and Walter Pitman gathered compelling evidence that showed a flood--if not an ark--may have occurred in the Middle East region about 7,500 years ago, PBS reports.

The theory, the Guardian reports, is that a rising Mediterranean Sea pushed a channel through what is now the Bosphorus, submerging the original shoreline of the Black Sea in a deluge flowing at about 200 times the volume of Niagara Falls and extending out for 100,000 square miles.

Ballard has been exploring this theory for more than a decade, National Geographic reports, first discovering evidence of a submerged ancient shoreline in 1999. At that point, Ballard was still not convinced this was a biblical flood, according to the Guardian. Last year, his team found a vessel and one of its crew members in the Black Sea, according to ABC.

Ballard is using advanced robotic technology to travel back nearly 12,000 years to a time when much of the Earth was covered in ice, ABC reports. If and when this ice started to melt, massive floods may have surged through parts of the globe, wreaking havoc on anything and anyone in its way.

Sorry you are flat wrong totally denying and ignoring discoveries made by scientist.

How can I be wrong we both use the the Bible first you use the Bible to proof no such global flooding and now you are using the same Bible to proof no survivors? If there are no survivors then this mean the global flood did happen. I use the Bible to confirm that there was a global flood and that there were survivors aside from Noah and his family:
Genesis 8: The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

If it is a made up stories scientist won't be wasting their precious time trying to discovery it and many scientist have discover that it is not just a story.
I am sure I am not lying, maybe you are the one that is lying?

Maybe he did, he also admit and said that God is what motivated him to pursue a full time career in science because he wants to know how God created the universe.

    - - - Updated - - -

    Actually it is atheist bigotry.

I answer your question you don't like it.
Steven Hawking, he has no solid proof about God and yet he make wild claims that there is no God in spite of overwhelming evidence and finding by other scientist that the universe can not start on its own. That is your fact and scientist who corrupts facts.
IMO, God did not created the dinosaurs those creatures were part of the corruption of the earth created or started by the fallen angels that is why there were all wiped out and no scientific explanation can show how that happen.

If you admit that glacial melting is how the global warming occurred and not a 40 day and 40 night storm, then you admit the Bible is wrong.

Are you honestly arguing that the vast majority of scientists believe that a GLOBAL flood occurred?

    /facepalm

I am saying that what YOU are saying (that there were other survivors other than Noah and his family) is inconsistent with the Bible which claim that every living thing not on the ark died.

People are still curious to see what myths are based on, which was most likely the local flood in the area.

But NOT YOUR GOD. He believed that the Universe was God. What are you trying to prove, that Einstein believed in a completely separate God than you?

Where have I said that He shall return during our generation? I specifically said it is propheseid He shall return oneday.

Atheists such as yourself are very good at misunderstanding what is said...lol

Scripture never said that Jesus was suppose return during the generation that His disciples lived in, you, no doubt about it, have misunderstood the Scripture...what else is new?...lol

and so how could it be a hoax? Simply put, He just hasn't returned yet but again He shall return oneday as prophesied.

"I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."

Jesus to his disciples, Matthew 16:28. He most certainly DID say that.

You didnt answer anything. You wrote words yes but you didnt back up your claim. You stated atheist corrupted the science. I asked you to provide the facts showing where that occurred. You then stated someones opinion which is not stating the answer to my question.
So let me summarize what you have told me:
    You believe in witches
Science has been corrupted (yet you post no evidence at all that it has been corrupted by anything or anyone)
And now God did not create Dinosaurs which contradicts your belief.

If God created the earth, then by default he also created the Dinosaurs. If God did not create the Dinosaurs then God could not have created the earth.
    Fact. Dinosaurs existed.
Fact. Dinosaurs existed millions of years before Humans ever walked upright.
Fact. Dinosaurs were by far, the most successful animals to ever have existed on the planet.
(dont believe in asteroids? You should. A meteor just blew up over Russia so we know it happens. We even have video of it)
Fact. This evidence is seen all over the world by geologists and archeologists. It cannot be disputed.
Fact. There are more proven facts about dinosaurs than there is about the bible. We can even tell what they ate and how they died and the time period in which they existed.
Here is another little tidbit from science. Dinosaurs are still here. Birds are descendents of dinosaurs along with many other creatures. The common Chicken is a direct descendent of the T-rex. So given that Fact, are chickens created from fallen angels and birds as well? Why did God forget to tell us in the bible that animals are descendents from dinosaurs?
Ill tell you why. Because the people who wrote the bible had no way of knowing what dinosaurs were or what DNA was, if they did they would have had answers for this. If god was speaking directly to the people who wrote the bible why didnt he know about this?

Will God protect us from all future Asteroid impacts? Yes or No

I answer everything you ask you just can't handle the truth.
And you seem to have answer your own questions, if you have all the answers to your own questions why bother to ask...final conclusion....you are indeed confuse.
Yes, God will protect us from asteroid impacts, He will make sure that all deserving humans will go to heaven.

That is Islamic theology not Christian theology. Islam have created their own stories supposedly in Islam Ishmael is the chosen one and yet all the prophets except Mohammed are all speaking and lineage to Isaac that the Bible and Judaism stated is the chosen one. Islam created a parallel religion opposite everything about Christianity and Judaism.

Islam reject both Christianity and Judaism.
Christianity accept the Torah of Judaism which is the Old Testament for Christians.
Judaism reject both Christianity and Islam.

So, question: Judaism denies Jesus as the Messiah and DEFINITELY denies him being God. Does that mean that Jews don't believe in the same God as you?
