I see 7, but I am unsure of the nationalities and sexual preference of the 5 white men, so there could be more.

    So 58% minorities.... or more.

I didn't know that the right considered that Rush was nothing more than a comedian.

12 Years a Slave won because it's been a while since we had a decent white guilt movie that the Hollywood libs could get excited about.

    - - - Updated - - -

The one where 2% of Southern whites owned slaves? Let me guess, your "realistic depiction of slavery" includes every white skinned person on screen cracking a whip?

    How "tolerant".

He doesn't claim to be tolerant. You guys do. That's the difference. It's similar to when you attack a conservative for cheating on his wife while professing "family values". Hypocrisy is always worth pointing out.

I wonder how much of the rising tide of black on white violence can be attributed to Hollywood's constant portrayal of whites as the villain? How many whites are going to be attacked and/or murdered because someone went and saw "12 Years a Slave" and walked out feeling angry?

The left likes to keep anti-white racial tension on a low boil at all times, occassionally turning up the heat on it when they feel it will help them politically. See Joe Biden's "they're gonna put ya'll back in chains" comment right before the election as one example.

    - - - Updated - - -

Uh, they do. Look at any IQ test on the subject given within the last century. It was never in dispute, only the causes.

It was a pretty good movie and it was based on a book written by somebody who lived the experience.

I]I heard that stats SEVERAL TIMES and frankly was surprised but NEXT TO THE SUPERBOWL this is the most watched. (Always on SUN, what better to watch I'm thinin. Not important just repeating what I heard.[/I]

Robert Byrd was a high ranking, prominent member of the Ku Klux Klan in his youth. He remained a democrat to his dying day, which came about 30 years after Reagan's "southern strategy".

As for this one! There is an age range of racists for him I will say, ain't gonna chance. Below that age, I won't tolerate RACISM from them. IF you born before a certain date, you won't get it, your brain 'won't/can't' reorient self? Perhaps it is HARD WIRED and since negative thought (ESPECIALLY fear based) has stronger affect on the personality, I'll maybe give that group a pass. BYRD and THURMOND were of that age (of course, ironically Thurmond USED a black woman and made a child with her). I have no idea (and NEITHER DO YOU) whether Byrd truly remained a racist till he died. When MS Senator and Majority Leader Trent Lott made his racist remarks, I looked up his age and said HE'S GOTTA GO! He wasn't old enough to get a pass. Sure enough he was gone 2 weeks later.

I disagree. I think that there is a political objective in mind by constantly reminding the white majority of this country that slavery existed 150 years go amongst 2% of the population.

Our country's history is now a political objective that the media is subconsciously throwing down our throats.
The conspiracy theory section is that aways...

Anthony Johnson CREATED slavery that is so hated today. It didn't exist until he went to court to say he owned his indentured servant and didn't have to free him. Full blown slavery was brought about BY A BLACK MAN!

Don't expect a Hollywood movie to be made about him in the near future. Doesn't quite fit the template of the left's narrative.

Isn't this basically /thread? How can anyone with more than 2 brain cells read the 2 comments, understand they're the same and either be angry at both or not care? If one outrages you and the other doesn't, there's something missing up there partner. Sorry. Either that or you're trolling.

Another nugget we should all get out of this is once again, people hate what Rush says without even listening or reading what it is he's saying.

Of course. And this thread was 100% trolling. I'd be surprised it's still open, but the OP is a lefty.

Absolutely, and quite typical. How man of these parrots have repeated this:

"Rush is a jerk! He said the movie is no good and he never even saw it!"........ which, anyone with the slightest ability to read, can see is a complete lie.... all for the sake of creating another troll-thread.

Just reinforces their reputation for hating & badmouthing people for things that never happened.

They will make up anything, just to try and make someone look bad. Insecurities like a MF'er

Really? You haven't seen the stern pronouncements from them, following "Rush says..." on this forum? The right consider him a serious political pundit:roflol:

Eh, that won't stop Hollywood. They'll still make a movie about him, with Anthony Johnson being played by one of the Hemsworth brothers or someone like that....

Yeah. Slavery is an invention of THE BLACK MAN. Poor whites had no idea what they were doing. They were coerced by the black people they were enslaving, forced to feed and clothe them. LIEberal Hollywood will never make a movie about that. They're too busy making movies about GAYS and AIDS to push the LIEberal agenda.

I did, and I loved it, although it was very hard to watch.

I was hoping it would get at least 3 or 4 Oscars. I also liked "Nebraska" and was disappointed it didn't get more.

For me it was a toss up between "12 years a slave" and "American Hustle."

I was quite annoyed by "Gravity" getting that many oscars! It's a good film, but it certainly didn't deserve that much recognition!

I saw it, great movie, but like Sadie said it was a bit hard to watch.

I am so stoked that The actress that played Patsy won the oscar. Her performance was outstanding. Michael Fassbender was great as well, I would have liked to see him win.

    Also, gravity was a snoozefest.

True — it's like when Thomas Bruso (aka "Epic Beard Man"), an old white Vietnam vet, was attacked on a bus in Oakland by a drunk black guy and responded with the mother of all ass kickings. When they made the movie about it, they cast Danny Trejo (a Hispanic) as Bruso and the drunk black guy was portrayed by a group of white racists. LOL! So typical of left-wingers and Hollywood, isn't it?
