Not only is CNN admitting the response was "pretty icy," so has MSNBC and The Washington Post. His speech before the newly graduated West Point Lieutenants has been described as "confusing," "not a Commander-in-chief speaking" kind of speech, and a "philosophical speech." Apparently from the lack of applause, they thought so too. I was embarrassed listening to him.....especially the part about a hammer and nail. "CNNs international correspondent Jim Clancy called the West Point response to President Obamas meandering foreign policy address pretty icy Wednesday. Clancy said it was not really a great speech to give at the U.S. Military Academy, and the address has drawn bipartisan criticism. It was a philosophical speech, he said. It was not a Commander-in-Chief speaking to his troops. And you heard the reception. I mean, it was pretty icy. Obama said he believed strongly in American exceptionalism, but he continually used straw men in his address by implying that critics of his vision of foreign policy always advocated first and foremost for military action. A panel on MSNBCs Morning Joe criticized the president for his announcement to fully withdraw American troops from Afghanistan by 2016, and even liberal Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson ripped Obama for giving a convoluted speech Wednesday." http://www.mediaite.com/tv/cnn-reporter-icy-reception-for-obama-from-west-pointers-during-speech/
I'll say. West Point is hardly the venue for Warmers to promote their agenda. Maybe Obama should consider pulling John Podesta out of his rectum...
He was speaking to the military. He hates them and they know it. What kind of reception does he expect?
I think Obama is so wrapped up in himself he didn't notice the cadets or their response. It's the pro Obama lib news media that is a little shocked.
Apparently the right wants to focus on the "reception of graduating cadets at west point" than the content of the speech. When the commander in chief essentially says that "ready fire aim" no longer has a place in american foreign policy, you'd think that the cream of the american military would grasp the importance of such to themselves, their loved ones and the troops they will eventually command. Perhaps the "icy" reception was merely a contemplative reaction to a speech of such global and local significance.
Just so. Now it's a two step program: 1. While standing, place your head between your legs. 2. Kiss your ass goodbye.
What an incredibly shallow and stupid response, indicative of a total and complete lack of understanding of what Obama actually said. On the other hand, history has proven that "ready fire aim" was a hallmark of neo-con american empire actions, thru the first decade of the 21st century.
Contemplative reaction? The dumbest West Point graduate is smarter than Obama. They were probably trying to figure out how this idiot got elected twice.
The most stunning thing about the President's reception at West Point was the lack of respect that the cadets had for their commander-in-chief. As commander-in-chief, there is a 200 year history of respect which has been instilled into the military. It takes a lot, no, a whole lot to pee away that respect. When the President left, only about a quarter of the cadets bothered to stand up. That is pretty shocking. Oh well, these are the guys who will be leading the revolution.
And Obama has managed to lose respect from our armed forces in no time since being elected. It's well known that Democrats don't like the military but Obama takes it to a new low. All those newly commissioned 2nd LT's will have to earn respect from their men once they are assigned to their unit. Obama didn't get the memo that respect is earned, not given.
Yes, its a known fact that most constitutional lawyers, law professors and editors of the Harvard Law REview are dumber than a bag of rocks and as such meet the rigourous pre=requisites for getting elected president. It is amusing when posts discussing the intelligence of others are as stunning stupid as yours is.
What would it take to flunk out of a liberal arts college, such as Occidental? Didn't Cloppy the Wonder Horse graduate with honors from Occidental with a degree in mathematics? By the way, Obama was never a constitutional lawyer or a law professor.
There's only so much respect that cadets will offer to a CIC who doesn't deserve respect. Applause and standing ovations are voluntary, even in the military, and considered by some to be out of uniform and discouraged. Respect is not something that can be demanded, it can only be earned. And even the media has picked up on the fact that the Lying African hasn't earned their respect.
If they are former drug abusers that better qualified libs feel sorry for because they are black maybe they can sneak by and later be called law professors when in fact they are only lecturers. And if the editor of the law review never publishes and article no one will know that he's dumber than that bag of rocks.
From who though? Even MSNBC and CNN and The Washington Post were criticizing him. I doubt anyone would give him any money for that speech. Except maybe the Bill Ayers' types, I guess.
You're assuming he's any of that. Show me his college transcripts and we'll talk. I know the intelligence of people coming out of West Point. All you have is the word of Obama's fellow travelers that he's as smart as all that. I argue down to my audience's intelligence. I didn't expect much from you.
Only a fool puts any stock in 'what Obama says' since he's lying sociopathic POs. It's WHAT HE DOES, not what he says.
I wonder how many of our anti-Obama fanatics here would be admiring him for speaking instead to a friendly audience? THEN he'd be a coward. Since he's willing to speak to an unfriendly audience, he's a jerk. We see the same syllogism over and over: 1) Obama is a complete (censored) 2) Obama did or said something (anything at all) 3) Therefore we're right, and Obama is a complete (censored). The polarization is interesting. It's simply impossible for Obama to be right even once for some people, and wrong even once for others.
By definition, you cannot imaging a friendlier audience to a Commander-in-Chief than West Point. YOU CANNOT! If they could not have been marshaled into being more enthusiastic in the presence of (*)(*)(*)(*)ing Commander-in-Chief, something is wrong here on a very basic level ...
bad enough an address that the N.Y.Times found nothing positive about it.Yet Charles Krauthammer managed to give it a grade of C-. Which Fellow All Star Stephen Hayes called " soft " as he graded the Obama speech an F.
I joined the Marine Corps to see combat. Call me sadistic if you want, but I joined the forge the bond of brotherhood when (*)(*)(*)(*) hits the fan. I did. There is no greater rush then expelling an enemy from a battlefield and being able to stand along side those who you have fought and bled with for years and years. To hear our CIC tell a group of newly minted butter bars that our foreign policy sucks... well, what do you expect. You think they joined the military for an education? Especially in the Marine Corps, if you dont have a Combat Action Ribbon, you are pretty much garbage. Rank doesnt apply. In uniform, if I see a Ssgt without a CAR, I laugh at him. I know, I know, respect the rank, but your CAR is everything. I bet those who wish to lead their troops to victory want to hear about how we are pussifying out military. - - - Updated - - -
