According to http://variety.com/2013/tv/news/who-are-the-highest-paid-stars-in-tv-1200585236/, John Stewart is the highest-paid TV talking head raking in TWO AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS PER MONTH.

Well, that's nothing... Robert Downey, Jr. must think John Stewart is total scum. He got $75 million in 2013. http://www.forbes.com/pictures/mfl45ekhem/robert-downey-jr-20/

Now, these CEOs that everyone likes to roast have among the most stressful jobs on the planet, not to mention unimaginable responsibility. The decisions they make have the potential to effect hundreds of thousands of people. The most important decision John Stewart makes every day is Chilean sea bass or lobster salad for lunch...

So enough (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about CEOs, K? Thanks,

I can't stand Jon Stewart and always thought of him as a liberal mouthpiece.

Now that I know he could be a hypocrite, I have even more reason to dislike him.

If he is the typical liberal, he would probably be livid that wealthy conservatives have more money than the po' folk in the ghettos.

And if he doesn't do charity work, then that would make him even more of a hypocrite.

Stewart should be paying royalties to FOX, 99% of his jokes are about them.

I'm sure he's a charitable guy. But it's just not fair that he should earn so much money while others are scraping by at Wal-Mart.

    - - - Updated - - -

Does he joke about CEOs? That would be interesting, eh?

When I was working I cared about what I earned. Since I wasn't a greedy liberal, I didn't care what someone else earned.

Hollywood and media generally have always been exempted somehow from the OWS 1% resentment politics. It's always about those evil, faceless CEOs, Koch Bros, WalMart. Most leftist talking points are this way, hypocritical, designed to capture the lowest common denominator of votes. This is also why the left is so insecure and defensive in the "education and intelligence" departments, they know full well they depend on govt dependent moron votes to compete with their opposition, so constantly pour out fallacious BS about how "blue states are more educated, blue states are givers, ignorant hillbilly red states" as compensation. It's the exact way they conduct the "Republicans are racists" propaganda smears as well, fooling retards with unfacts designed to cover a very real history of racial violence and oppression in the Democratic Party.

I just hope my grandkids live to see the day when we do away with the rich, and the poor. The obscenity involved in this paradigm will eventually be changed, although it will take many deaths for this to happen. And an implosion of capitalism which is insanity, given we have the intelligence to leave that economic model behind to the dustbin of history.

Oh, but when they do, so far as they are on the PC side, let the clarion calls and hosannas ring forth! The Kochs can build three whole hospitals from the ground up and we won't hear a thing about it, but let celebrity X go on an extended photo op in Africa and raise 5 mill from other celebs and Hallelujah! the Magnanimity!

Well except if you're Bono and turn capitalist. Notice how we don't hear that much about him any more since he saw the light? He used to be the head uber godlike charity celebrity of the world! Now he's essentially persona non grata in MSM. Go figure. Hypocrites.

    Is there a point here?

So you don't have a problem with John Stewart getting $14,423.07/hr -- well over ONE THOUSAND TIMES minimum wage because you like what he says?

    - - - Updated - - -

Nice diversion from the topic which is JOHN STEWART'S OBSCENE SALARY!

John Stewart doesn't advocate more tax cuts for himself at the expense of others.

John Stewart pays his employees well, so nope, no problem with him

the left has no issue with being rich, being a cheap skate once you are rich and not paying your employees well, that we have issue with

"Is there a point here? "

the point is, most CEO's only bring their (last)name to the table, they don't actually do any work..... don't actually deserve what they are paid... not saying that is wrong, just stating it's a fact

But he gets over $14,000/hr. That is obscene. But you're only outraged when people you don't like earn that kind of money, right? If John is such a great guy -- not advocating tax cuts and all that as you say -- why doesn't he just donate his excess income to the government? I mean he should be able to get by in New York on $80,000/yr. in a nice rent controlled apartment drinking only the government-allowed soda serving. At the end of the Form 1040, there is a box where you can make a donation to the U.S. Treasury. Heck, I'm feeling generous... I'll let Mr. Stewart live on $100,000. So he can donate $29,900,000 to the government.

What employees? Can you provide a citation? And don't you think he could pay these alleged employees EVEN BETTER if he gave back some of that $30,000,000? I mean how many employees can he have?

How much does JS pay his "employees"?

"Is there a point here? "

So someone who manages a multi-billion dollar revenue generating entity and employs tens of thousands of people does not deserve $30 million, but a guy who makes jokes on TV for an hour a night does?

Now the rich are jealous of the poor? What?? Why doesn't Mr. Stewart give back that obscene salary? Nobody needs that much money.

Uhhhh... you can't be employed and be on welfare. And I'm still waiting for your citation proving your claim about John Stewart's "employees."

did you seriously think his website and tv show did not have employees maintaining and running them behind the scenes... get real

    - - - Updated - - -

Republicans are jealous of the poor.... pretty obvious

"Uhhhh... you can't be employed and be on welfare."

seriously, have you checked out the employees of Walmart and McD's?

You claimed "John Stewart pays his employees well." I am asking you to back your assertion with a citation. Please...

And then if you could please tell me how "Republicans are jealous of the poor."
