Have I made reference to any video? Perhaps it would be better for you to respond to what I have said, rather than what you need me to have said. The mall, contrary to FL's claim sits adjacent to two distinct neighborhoods One predominantly white, the other predominantly African American. That is my point and my only point. Stop putting words in my mouth, that's a cheap ploy.

 

I left for a little bit to see if anything has changed here, sadly, the same usual players are still playing the same game.

Zoom in on the West Orlando area. You'll see a large cluster of blue dots (representing African American population). The mall sits just west on the western edge of that blue dot cluster. Use Lakes Sherwood and Lotta as a reference point to compare it to the yahoo map I posted earlier.

What facts were stated? Seems like there are other facts to the case, but some are just unwilling to accept it. We even have one member trying diligently to correlate the distance between white neighborhoods and black neighborhoods of the area. Now if this thread is a call out to show somehow the "ferelness" of the black community, then state so in the title. But if it is to talk about the event that happened in a movie theater in Ocoee, then why the comments on the amish and black locations?

My apologies for having confused you. I know facts can be bitter for the hard liners. Contrary to your parody of my participation here, I'm simply pointing out an erroneous and misleading claim made by another poster.

 

This is a black social media phenomenon across the country, flash mobs in Chicago, Milwaukee, Florida, both coasts. The only reason you don't think so is because the media does not report it for what it is.

So, do you think this should just be ignored or addressed for what it is? Apparently sticking your head in the sand and calling people racist is your response.

we have a movie theater in our mall. Back in the day, that was a great theater, but it only had 4 screens. As times changed, and new theaters were created with 6...12... even 20 screens, the AMC 4 that was in the mall, was unable to expand beyond 4 screens. So it turned into a $1 theater that ran older movies. Sounded great.


BUt then the mall changed it's demographics. it became the fri/sat hangout for "teens" Fighting, shoplifting and just overall hoodlum type behaviors.

it was during these times that I went to watch a Jackie Chan movie with a buddy. In theater two, was that movie where two girls kissed in the pool but was rated R.


The talking, laughing, carrying on in my theater was rediculous. 50 "teens" were in there. And when the rated R movie began, they all started "awww, (crap), we'z gots to go see those "B's" make out.... htey hawt as (a bundle of sticks)"

.... and they, as noisily as they could, got up and migrated out. Well, I was happy. Now I can enjoy my movie. Nope. The management caught the 'teens' (not like they were trying to be discreet or anything....) but instead of kicking them out, they told them to go back into their movie they had a ticket for.... my movie. So, as noisily as they exited, they came back in.... M'fer this, kick his ass that....

20 minutes later, they attempted to sneak into that second movie again.... and once again, got shuffled back to my movie.

I don't know one way or the next what the demographics of the area is/are. I could really care less, but it seems that some have made it their mission to get to the bottom of it. Even to the point of "researching" it.

 

The parents are the root of the problem..In todays society these parents will most likely blame the theatre.

 

I'm a scientist, It is my nature to research. I often find it useful when dealing with die hard partisans to have all the facts at hand rather than just those convenient to ones own narrative. Perhaps you see things differently. but hey...ya know, if you lack the intellectual curiosity to seek all the facts, who am I to deny you your denial and disrupt blissful ignorance.
