Well, not only that, but a lot of things that used to be there for kids are gone. There was a roller rink down the street from me that did plenty of business with teens, but it got sold and torn down for condos that no one lives in. When I was that age we also had lots of teen dance clubs and such. In other words, there were things to go do. A lot of that stuff is gone with nothing to replace it.
Yeah, most teenage interaction is generally online. I used to throw all-ages rave parties when I was younger, but because of a couple of bad parties, the parents and the media went crazy and had by-laws instituted which priced out every promoter in the area. So what happened? All the official parties dried up, but all the underground parties exploded, with way more problems (ODs, underage drinking, fights), but the parents and the officials could pat themselves on the back and say 'look, we helped', when in actuality they hurt more.
What happened to the local recreation centers that were around when I was growing up. What has happened to the Boys and Girls Clubs?
It's happened throughout the country the question is why and what are we going to do about these animals?
Give us a reason to believe otherwise? Did you see the crowds hanging around Ferguson after the stores were looted and burned?
That's how things were for us growing up in Arabia... lots of stuff to do. If I was the Ocoee town council, I would slap a tight curfew on anyone under 18 after sundown.
So you foreigners don't like to deal with reality.....gothca. Well we Americans do especially when it comes to our business which is not yours. When you have to live with this you might have a dog in this hunt, until then..... - - - Updated - - - Around here it is, we're not a tiny little country like where you live.
Here it is, stop acting like you know what you are talking about in my country. a : not distant : nearby <the city and adjacent suburbs>
No they haven't , still present in my community. I volunteer with bagc, as well as big brothers big sisters. They just don't make the news because news is negative .
When I was in school, after school every single day I went to wrestling, football, or baseball practice. In the summer it was baseball, wrestling camps, and rec basketball. there were also pickup games pretty much every day of my life, swimming, and plenty of bike riding. In addition to that I always had paper routes. Aside from paper routes, you can't tell me that the rest of those activities no longer exist.
""These are middle to high school kids who have guns, who are shooting guns, are robbing people, driving stolen cars and they have drugs in their cars," Hopkins said." yet no drug busts or arrest for stolen cars.... and of course the gun shots turned out not to be gun shots... seems like much exaggeration going on, the question I still have is what the heck, did they think if all 900 of them rushed the theater they would just play free movies for them?
Are you assuming these animals think rationally? - - - Updated - - - I blame it on the kids whose race appears overwhelmingly to be black and the black sociology that excuses such animals. - - - Updated - - - I think you should worry more about what you know and what you think you know, you're not in a real good position to be testing others.
