NASA Supports Replacing American Flag With A New Design - Diversity Gone Amok

It seems that political correctness and diversity has contaminated every corner of American life. NASA is more than a space exploration agency, what it represents are symbols of American achievement and national pride. Removing the American flag from NASA is offensive, very, very offensive since this American pays American tax dollars to the American government who gives them to an American space agency who won't call themselves American. And yes, I blame Obama for this. I really do.

 

Correction, NASA was a symbol of American pride and achievement. Now it is just one long running joke. I could care less if they want to replace the US flag with that doily flag, I want NASA scrapped and all space oriented programs handed over to the Air Force which has had more launches than NASA for several years now anyways.

to be fair, the american flag has come to represent oppression, slavery and neo- colonialism. i think a re-branding could be an ingenious idea and possibly the last horah before the it dies. pride is a bad thing, daddy should have told you that.

 

NASA is not an obscure organization, they are known the world over as the American space program. Using a neutral flag(in that it is not the flag of any one country) does not mean anything different except that the flag will be different. The flag is meaningless. It's just a decoration really, since everyone already knows that NASA is the U.S. and the flag serves no functional purpose on any of the science or the missions. Having a neutral flag makes more sense anyway since it's not just one country contributing to space exploration anymore, even within NASA. There is a lot of collaboration going on and the science has generally benefited for it.

I see this as meaningless except as fodder for a person who doesn't like NASA for whatever reason to validate their feeling.

Before we can go ahead we've got to look behind and tell the refuse of humanity that they too share a part in our glorious future.

It reminds me of the sacred geometry symbol for the tree of life. I wonder how much money NASA wasted on this. It's an American government institution it should use an American flag on American funded projects.

 

What has happened to American pride? There's a flag on every soldiers uniform, there's one in every school classroom, there's one in every sports stadium, every NFL helmet has a flag, the flag is raised when an American wins in the Olympics, and if you look hard enough you might still see one in the Oval Office. The left does not take American pride and patriotism seriously, so why do they stay here? But mock gay or black pride and all of a sudden their true colors show.

Since the Super Bowl is televised world wide, I can probably safely assume that all references to America, including the National Anthem, would be eliminated if the left had their way.

Progressive leftists, do us all a favor and stop calling yourselves patriots or even Americans because you're not.

 

But the things that NASA did in the past already happened and nothing will change that. America was made great by those acts. America is currently made great by what NASA is currently doing like the Mars rovers, the New Horizons spacecraft currently approaching Pluto, and the Hubble Telescope. America will be made great in the future when NASA does new things, such as the James Webb Space Telescope.

You're lucky in that you don't see what's coming. First the left made it so you should feel guilty for being white and pretty soon you'll be feeling guilty for being American. I already am a global citizen. You are too. We both live on the Earth, and that is what they are referencing with the term "global" in the name. Also, I'm white and I don't feel the least bit guilty about things I have not done or do not have the power to control. You shouldn't either. And I'm not sure why you would feel guilty to be an American. I'm an American and I love this country. Don't you?

What needs to be taken away from the whole "conservatives love America, liberals hate America" fantasy is that there are both good and bad things about this country because it's a REAL country. And nothing is perfect. In a sense, the liberals you refer to here that are doing what you say they are represent those who want to dwell on the bad things. And on the other side of this are the ones who don't want to think about the bad stuff, only the good stuff, who tend to believe America is great no matter what. Neither tends to like what the other has to say, but the truth is right in the middle.

America is the product of both the good and the bad. Denying one is like denying half of your own body.

Another stupid, idiotic, outrage. NASA has NOT changed their logo, for starters...in fact, their logo NEVER had an American flag on it since day one. What NASA is considering is a change to a new logo, like this;

Now, where did the bonehead who wrote the article in the Inquisitr get the idea that NASA was abandoning the American flag on it's space suits, etc? If one traces back the image they used, it takes you to this site, which is a group called "International Flag of Planet Earth" which is a graduation project at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm, Sweden. Basically they are trying to sell the world community their design on a world flag, like the one on Star Trek, only nations instead of planets. NASA has no intention of leaving off the American flag, anywhere.
