Chicago has hit the somber milestone even sooner than the violent year of 2012, when the city saw 500 homicides for the first time since 2008. Shootings that year were up 11 percent. The city reached the 1,000 mark on June 6 in 2012. In 2013 it was on June 26 and last year it was on June 15.

This year, Chicago passed the mark sometime late Thursday into early Friday morning, according to data collected and analyzed by the Chicago Tribune."

Chicago black on black violence is out of control. Kids being shot at 2AM, now why are kids out at 2AM? It's not a gun control issue as criminals could care less about gun laws it's a breakdown of society issue. This BS just seems to get worse and worse every year and sooner or later it going to reach critical mass.

 

The only way you'll ever see a liberal response to this is if the thug on thug slayings get to a point where it impacts voting precinct numbers.

And even then don't expect Obama and Sharpton to point the finger at their own kind.

Cities ran exclusively by libs have more poverty, drugs, violence, and shootings then anywhere else in the country.

The topic posted is about the number of shootings in Chicago. Nothing in the article and not even the OP mentioned anything about liberal or conservative.....which brings me back to my point about having "intelligent dialogue".... and I'll just leave it at that.

Actually, I live in Chicago. Chicago is actually made up of two cities. One city is composed of downtown and the north side. I like to call this the "city proper". The other city is located south of "Chicago proper" and has small pockets of areas west and north west.

This city is called "Chiraq". You might of heard of it.



Cops, and tourist do not visit that area. The liberal politicians pander to that area for votes mostly during election time, but regular people usually leave that area alone. It has it's own culture and laws (aka "street justice"). Favorite music is called "gangster rap / hip hop". A favorite past time is called "blaming the white man and the police". It's call "Chiraq" because on certain weekends, more people have been killed in "Chiraq" than Iraq.

Spike lee is making a movie about "Chiraq". Some people say he' tring to help "Chiraq". Others say, he just doing it to increase his wallet size. Oh, and most politicians that work and live in "Chiraq" - they are liberal.

 

Indeed, the topic is the number of shootings in Chicago. Who is doing the shootings? Why? Who is setting the policies in the city and why is Chicago disproportionately effected in comparison to cities with different leadership? Are those topics you wish to discuss? Sounds as though keeping the policy makers out of the equation is nothing more than a tawdry attempt to deflect responsibility on the part of city leaders...
