thank you for at least admitting it's part of the issue, I think it's a big part of the issue, but I agree it is only part of the issue, a part we can easily fix

Do you think it will be any different for the Drug Cartel's? Kidnapping for ransom is already a sizable part of their business model, would it be better if they brought that to the U.S.?

So you rather continue the war on drugs, which fuels endless violence and deaths, because if we don't they are going to start kidnapping american citzens for cash? I think thats a pretty dumb idea, basically drawing a target on their foreheads. Do keep in mind that the drug business is what allows them to have a huge network of criminals, they can bribe any official in mexico, hire professional military squads as their hit men all because of the drug profit.

Cut that profit and you'll have 10 or so hombres trying to kidnap a US citizen? I think not.

But GOP run Texas doesn't have such problems. It's a right to work state with relatively low taxes and plenty of jobs -- IF a citizen wants to get off his or her lazy rump and work. So why don't GOP run states and cities have the same degree of perpetual and grinding poverty and DEADLY living conditions as -- say -- the typical DEM run state or city?

    Oh my!

A sizable part of the Drug Cartels business model is kidnapping for ransom. The Drug Cartels aren't going away, they'll just change what they do for money. Home invasions, truck hijacking and kidnapping for ransom comes to mind.

NO, I'm just pointing out the obvious! I'd rather use the "War on Drugs" money to secure our border with the U.S. Military we bring home from around the world. When they can't get in.....problem solved. You just don't seem to understand, I DON'T CARE WHO USES DRUGS! It's called job security for old geezers like me. Legalizing Pot doesn't mean anyone can show up for work stoned any more than showing up drunk. Pee in the cup.............THC......to quote Trump..."YOU'RE FIRED!"

Violent jackasses fuel violence, the drugs are inanimate, much like guns. Why is that so hard for some people to understand; inanimate objects don't actually do anything all on their own...

If it came to that, concealed carry would triple in popularity. That would be about 35M people carrying in the US. I don't think they would be as successful as in Mexico. Especially if we scale back foreign military deployments and actually protect our borders.

Even in Mexico guns are a popular way to resist the Cartels.

Violent jackasses without resourses made through drugs don't casue as much violence as violent jackasses who make millions with drugs, are willing to fight for drug territory/routes to sell said drugs, bribe people, behead people etc. Is this hard to understand? How come when Colombian cartels controlled the drug flow to the US, the mexican border with the US wasn't a war zone? Did the violent jackasses decided to migrate to the US border in the last 20 years or so for no apparent reason?

Uh well, secured border or not the drugs won't stop coming into the US. Heck i wouldn't even be suprised if some US soldiers got bribed into bringing some into the US. Ending the war on drugs would do as much if not more benefit to the borders than deplyoing god knows how many soldiers along side it.

Precisely so. There must be some smoothly operated and safe to live within long time Dem Controlled city that does not possess huge sections of permanent and grinding poverty . . . but I can't think of one off-hand. You'd think that the Dems would finally figure out that they are collectively doing something . . . wrong.

So Captain Kirk will have the Starship Enterprise beam them across the border instead?

There are tons of drugs crossing the border through trucks/boat containers. A small amount is being carried by mules across the desert. Unfortunatly the drug dealers are more creative than you, and they know better ways of getting them across than beaming across the border.

Why get excited. Most of the 1000 are gang and drug dealers. Just look at it as improving the gene pool.

We can't keep drugs out of our prisons, no way we can keep them out of the country.

With the border wide open as it is. Put the U.S. Military on the border to secure it. BTW we have had drug sniffing machines since 1997, which I'm sure they have made great advances in.

Enough drugs to supply the market will keep getting in no matter how much military are patrolling the border(not just the mexico one, but also canada) or how great these sniffing machines are. And guess what, even if they are unable to bring them here (which will never happen) they can produce their own inside the US, like they are already doing with weed and meth.
