Yeah, I have a feeling that a lot of the people who are anti-rights are actually foreigners. Why they take such an interest in our rights and our politics, I will never know.
The member Bowerbird has said on multiple occasions that the exportation of media glorifying firearms and united states culture in general could have an adverse effect on society in the nation of Australia, by potentially influencing the youth of Australia, and one day motivating them to change their culture to more closely resemble the culture of the united states.
Why can I not own bombs, just in case? No one is threatening our right to own guns. They are proposing making guns that can shoot over 100 people in under 5 minutes a little harder to get. Why is that so bad? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Because the gun ban movement is not about making guns hard to get for Criminals, history shows that since 1911 and the famous Sullivan Law of NYC, they have made guns harder to acquire, for law abiding citizens, criminals can purchase stolen guns far easier, even stolen Military weapons, and gun registration was how semi-automatic rifles were banned in NYC the first go around. Facts are never addressed by gun ban and gun restriction advocates, only Law Abiding people are hindered by such Laws. You can pretend that nobody is interested in taking away the peoples rights to own guns, however history proves otherwise.
Line Dancing is the ultimate lame activity. "Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it." - American Philosopher George Santayana Better quote; “To be ignorant of what occurred before you were born is to remain always a child. For what is the worth of human life, unless it is woven into the life of our ancestors by the records of history?” ― Marcus Tullius Cicero
So? What's wrong with that? People from all over the world want to come to America because it's a great and a free country where citizens have rights, including self defense with firearms if they so choose. Besides the fact that I don't think firearms were ALWAYS banned in Australia anyway.
Yes, & I happen be right about it. Legit, moral law is based on what the individual has a right to defend himself against. Going beyond that is the law violating rights rather than protecting them. Then you would agree the 95% of all criminal cases that are plea bargained are a violation of due process. The court system is run on violating due process. Beyond that convictions on things like drug laws & gun control make a mockery of due process. These "crimes" shouldn't be illegal to begin with.
How did someone who has been investigated by the FBI twice obtain an assault rifle? I haven't heard that he obtained it illegally. Everyone is a law abiding gun owner, until they aren't. This guy was a wife beater and caught the FBI's attention. He shouldn't have guns. Where is the loophole that he was able to have them? One of Obama's talking points is that people on the no fly list or terrorist watch lists can still legally buy a gun. Is that an accurate portrayal of law and if so should they still have the right to own guns? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
1) obviously because merely being investigated by the FBI did not rise to him being indicted for a crime-which is the lowest rung in losing one's right to buy a gun 2( it was not an assault rifle-Goofy Bernie started whining about automatic weapons. The killer did not have an automatic weapon nor could he have legally obtained one in less than half a year 3) People on the no fly list are often on there due to a mere suspicion or because they associate with people the FBI thinks are terrorists being on that list is not sufficient to lose one's rights Many Democrats would love to put any NRA official or pro gun activist on a list if they could
Wasn't the shooter an armed security guard too? I thought I heard that somewhere. I haven't been watching too much about it on the news because they keep mentioning gun control and it pisses me off, so I change the channel and watch something else.
yeah he passed a background check to buy the gun, he passed a background check to be a security guard, he was interviewed and investigated by the FBI and they FOUND NO REASON TO CHARGE HIM for any malfeasance
I guess they were wrong on making that call. Seems to me that people in positions of power are more incompetent than ever.
well given his wife-who claimed he beat her, never stepped up to the plate and filed DV charges with the police nor did his employer fire him and notify the police he had threatened people, maybe the failure was on the part of those around him who didn't speak up
This goes back to my OP, By What Right Do You Threaten Our Gun Rights? We can't deny people their rights because they might be dangerous. Every now & then it might work but in the process millions will have their rights violated. Not only is a disarmed population at the mercy of private criminals it is at the mercy of tyrannical govt too. Let's disarm the govt first, they're not protecting us anyway. Wouldn't it be better to adopt a peaceful foreign policy so we stop suffering from blowback like what happened in Orlando? If we stop going to their end of the world fighting them they'll stop coming here to retaliate. "No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare" --James Madison
Any gun suitable for defense is suitable for offense. The same characteristics apply for both sides of the equation. - - - Updated - - - Then they should ban American TV and movies.....
I agree with you except for one thing. No matter how peaceful our foreign policy is, Radical islam hates the freedoms of the west, they hate our lifestyle. They abuse women as second class citizens. They believe they must kill homosexuals. They behead people for simply being Christian. Make no mistake about it, they want to kill anyone that does not hold the same beliefs as they do. The have committed atrocities in countries that have done nothing militarily against them. We are fighting an ideology.
If you are not of Islam, you are the Infidel Dog, and as such must needs either convert to Islam, or Die, does that not sound Radical enough ??? How is it possible to be a Moderate in a Religion that preaches such Radical Core Doctrines ???
