This point has been made and purposely ignored over and over again. The truth is ignore. It is like the oft repeated mistruth that anyone can walk into a store like Walmart and walk out with a fully automatic deadly weapon of war good for nothing but killing innocent people.

Beyond that, they took away the selector switch during the Vietnam War. The full automatic assault rifle was far less deadly unless aimed very carefully for the first of a 3 round burst - a serious training challenge.

Surely you know that AK-47s and similar weapons are now easily obtained by criminals all over the world.

Yeah, I'm sure that will win over the cops when they ask are you carrying any weapons and you tell them no and then they find you are carrying a Glock and a knife.

And since most people with CCW and a Glock are not that stupid, your argument is a fail and a half.

Josh Sugarman and the violence policy center was caught advocating for lying to the united states public, and tricking them into supporting political ideology by playing on their lack of knowledge. They have already discredited themselves. There is no need to be better articulate when there is no credibility.

"Do assault weapons really encourage 'spray firing'? Gun industry apologists also disparage the use of such terms as 'spray firing' and 'shooting from the hip' to describe the deadly capabilities of assault weapons. But, as was explained earlier, 'spray and pray' was exactly the point of developing assault weapons. And the following illustrations show graphically how specific assault weapons features allow a 'point-and-shoot' grip and help control recoil so the shooter can 'hose down' a wide area with a lethal 'spray' of bullets."
    http://www.vpc.org/studies/hosesix.htm

In the link, there are photos of people engaging in "pray and spray hip-firing". So can you refute the argument that assault weapons were designed to hose down a large area with bullets? It seems a gun with a large capacity magazine and the ability to minimize recoil would be more suitable for this purpose than ordinary firearms. And a pistol grip makes it easy to hold the gun like a garden hose while spray firing.

do you understand that quoting the most dishonest and biased anti gun propaganda center in the USA doesn't help your argument. spray and pray is automatic weapons fire tactics for suppression of return fire. ITs something that people who know nothing of firearms spew to upset the sheep-minded. I used to be a world class skeet shooter. I ran 25 straight dozens of times from the HIP. GUESS what, I never used a pistol grip shotgun because its much easier to shoot from the hip with a straight stock. Your claim that "assault weapons" a term you clearly prove you don't understand were designed to hose down an area is just a complete fiction. when you can prove to me you actually know how to shoot, then I might listen to this nonsense . But since I have held master level classifications in several shooting sports, I know this stuff you spew is BS

What you're talking about is "suppression fire" from automatic weapons. Looking at your pictures you can clearly see these are GROUPS of SOLDIERS with automatic weapons. Such tactics are used to allow soldiers to ASSAULT a position by suppressing enemy counter fire, and allowing attackers to advance on that position.

Semi automatic rifles are in no way designed for such, and attempting to equate the two simply makes your argument look foolish.

If anything, the angle of a "pistol" grip on a semi-automatic AR15 makes it harder to fire "from the hip".

The BS is running thick today. It's amazing how little the left really knows about firearms.

I should try to find that video of 84 Gold Medalist (men's skeet) and USA shooting Hall of Famer, Matt Dryke shooting a 100 straight in skeet from the hip. I bet he knows a bit more about shooting from the hip than these gun banners. Go and pick up an AR 15 and then say a MI Garand or a MI carbine and aim it from the hip. what's easier? of course the one without the pistol grip. The pistol grip is better when you are shooting full auto from a bipod or a rest

For liberals it's not about knowledge, it's about "feelings" or wishful thinking. Even Bill Maher made a statement about stupid liberals not knowing much about firearms. Have you read the stuff from this guy Above Alpha on this forum? Truly amazing at the fantasies they hold.

what's amazing is they post stuff that are blatant lies or falsehoods and after they are educated, they continue to spew the same nonsense.

That's because they know the truth is against them and their agenda.

The fact that they continually repeat the same nonsense after being educated in facts should be clear to anyone who is on the fence regarding gun control regulations.

I don't post for those with the agenda, I post for those who might be buying into their bull****.

Is it the CCW or the Glock that makes people so much smarter, or maybe the combination? Heck, get you kid a Glock and a CCW for graduation so they can ace college!

In order for you to understand, once a person gets a concealed carry permit and a sidearm, they have made quite an investment in many ways that the Bannerrhoid movement is incapable of understanding, taking back control over ones life, not letting Criminals determine exactly how one will live their life, the tired arguments of the Anti Gun Clack are not founded in truth, they use shameless tactics and lies to bolster a false position.

So investing in a side arm and a concealed carry permit give a person some type of divine knowledge that someone who is against guns doesn't have? It is obviously not knowledge of logical fallacies.

No it just gives them knowledge, something liberal gun banners lack in spades.

These type of statements do nothing to help your cause and instead make gun owners look like unreasonable fanatics.

How so? Your statement regarding "divine" knowledge is the ridiculous one. To get a CCW in my state you have to have to demonstrate competence with the weapon, you're taught the law and you have to pass a test on the law. I'd say that would be real knowledge and not some liberal fantasy.

No, it is the gun banner that is an unreasoning fanatic, even a lunatic, if I have a concealed carry permit and a handgun and voluntarily received training, and spend money to be well equipped, and I am attacked by a Criminal, and I successfully defend myself and live, how is this make me unreasoning ?

Every day, many people survive a Criminal attack by using a firearm, something Gun Ban advocates and Gun control advocates refuse to acknowledge, so who are the unreasoning people here ??? Hmmm ??

Or we could just leave them uneducated about self defense laws and weapons and leave them vulnerable to rape, sexual assault, assault, attempted murder, or murder. Nothing magical here, you educate as you see fit, I'll do the same Viola, no need for uneducated comments, eh?
